>Ruins your adolescence and embitters your career >Builds a city state, raises a loving family, openly respected and generally becomes widely lucrative and successful
I still don't understand what the point of her was or what the lesson of her character was.
Being a piece of selfish shit who willingly aids criminals is good for you in the long run? How did they fuck up so hard with her.
I don't remember a thing about this gilf other than her cities were absolutely impractical metal flowers.
Christian Sullivan
Also why did they always portray her like she was in the right in every situation she was in? Especially in the final scene where Kuvira is captured and Suyin just treats her like garbage. Literally the most insufferable character in the entire series.
Camden James
>Literally the most insufferable character in the entire series. Except for the main character.
Problem is every now and then Korra gets blown the fuck out and gets to look like the fool she is Suyin is almost always seen as justified and correct on screen
Evan Martin
Do people seriously dislike her just because of the hair?
Justin Sanchez
Korra's bad, but she doesn't hold a candle to this cunt.
Xavier Phillips
she was their love letter to ayn rand. bryke are actually pretty into objectivism on the side.
Brody Kelly
Bryke were trying to redpill the normies and tell them to come out of Babylon. In Babylon, the more righteous and upstanding sister gets cucked, tarred and feathered, and disrespected.
The wicked sister, who left Babylon and made a city of her own, is able to succeed because she's not stuck in "Republic" City, a city with no real elections and where degenerate filth runs rampant.
Or Bryke realized they screwed the pooch on their main cast and decided to try and world build with mixed results
Carter Watson
>he believes in karma
Logan Sanchez
It's really and unironically Toph's fault.
Matthew Morris
>be no nonsense leader who fucks the avatar's shit up with a standing army and supply that Republic City has no chance of beating >lose because you went from being an efficient leader with an excellent command structure to a power ranger villain who uses all your "CAN'T BEND THIS" material for a giant robot to buttfuck Republic City for a third time in four years. >literally if you just stuck to your plan you would have won, doesn't matter that the Avatar will asspull a way to beat you in single combat, you had a standing army and everything
The worst part is the comics continue this, showing Suyin was able to get her son Batar Jr a "get out of jail free" card despite the fact he was doing everything right along side Kuvira.
Asher Anderson
She eventually got Kuvira put on house arrest in her city.
Gabriel Wood
dont be a whore with offspring from different father, that only make their lives and yours harder
At least Korra was called out and got her ass kicked a lot. Suyin pretty much always got everything she wanted
William Jackson
The lesson of her character was that life isn't fair, not all good deeds go rewarded, sometimes selfish people get everything they want and no consequences. Sometimes shitty things happen to good people for no reason, and sometimes good things happen to shitty people.
Did Bryke attempt “complex and layered” character writing wth characters like this and korra? Like they’re trying some kind of bs subversion of what is truly good and evil, and that bad people can be “good”.
Gavin Brooks
>I still don't understand what the point of her was or what the lesson of her character was. Maybe that people like this exist and you'll likely have to deal with them at some point in the real world, and there's nothing you can do about it.
Aiden Foster
>there's people like this in real life and there's nothing you can do about it
i beg to differ. Castro and Guevara took their country back from the mafia and imperialist goons from the U.S. that were screwing Cuba over with bad trade deals and the U.S. puppet, Batista
shooting stars? nah senpai. shooting tsars
Ethan King
>Get's her ass handed to her often >Still tries to do something (which just backfires about 50% of the time) >Might be a brat, but at least she isn't that smug about everything >When shit goes down, she accepts blame for it Suyin does none of these things, and always acts like she is the better person for it Really, all she has going for her is that she's a gilf and that she at least has a nice kill to her name
Nathaniel Bell
she was only around to be the classic 'always in the right' character. (and to be Sokka's only kid)
Ethan Long
>Being a piece of selfish shit who willingly aids criminals is good for you in the long run? The whole point of that was that certain bad and misguided people can change for the better if they put an effort into doing so.
Luke Bailey
She was successful at something that wasn't crime, but never bothered to apologize or feel genuinely sorry for what she has done.
Juan Lee
>if I'm a police officer mommy will love me most >wtf mommy no punish sister... but my face! >wtf I got cucked out of my husband, I'm alone, my mom doesn't like me, and my sister is better bender/person/overall >I know I will fight her >wtf I lose I laughed so fucking hard desu
Gavin Morales
>You're going to answer for everything you've done.
I wouldn't apologize for the road to success either. People feel bad when they lose and are forced to be humbled they do not do it willingly because it serves no practical purpose.
Brandon Clark
>but never bothered to apologize or feel genuinely sorry for what she has done. She did apologize at the end of the Beifongbowl episode
Gabriel Miller
>tfw she's done nothing wrong
Bentley Morgan
3rd one is entirely her own fault for not giving Tenzin some airbender children.
Bentley Flores
I dont understand how or why they fucked up toph so bad
David Morales
holy FUCK Zig Forums is dramatic today

its evil to take away land from an existing kingdom in order to build your own nation with outside economic and military support the gaate out all the people previously living in said land
