Watching it for the first time, what the fuck am I in for?
Watching it for the first time, what the fuck am I in for?
Punching solving everything
Stale garbage
Character Interaction: cliché, annoying, shallow love square
Character arc:???
Story: each season has an independent story because it was planned to be only a one season miniseries, so there's a lot of shit they had to improvise and by God it shows. In season 3 they finally pick up the quality, but it's too little too late
Characters: Korra is infuriating. They wanted to make a hot headed character and by god they succeed, every season she refused every chance to listen to reason or do things the right way, every fight she gets ehr ass handed to her on a silver plate and every finale she has to be saved by someone and barely wins with great, GREAT losses.
Mako is bland and barely more than a pretty face, his police work is the only barely interesting thing he has and, as korra would say, it's too little
Bolin. Fuck Bolin.
Asami. I can barely even remember her name and I watched the show yesterday. Her only personality is "I wanna fuck mako, except not anymore". She was supposed to be part of the plot twists in season one and a secret villain, but they didn't have the guts to do it because her design is really pretty.
Tenzin is the only saving grace but by season 3 his knowitall attitude gets tiring and he shows to be almost entirely useless. His fight with the season 3 villain is the best in the show.
Animation and music are a fucking marvel to the senses and are the reason you'll stick around the whole 4 stupid, putrid, worthless seasons.
Don't view it as a sequel to avatar, it'll just make you feel sad.
1) Korra is stupid and selfish
2) Korra fucks everything up
3) Deus ex machina
4) Korra wins
Rinse and repeat for 4 seasons
A decent show in a vaccum, a bad followup to ATLA.
It's mediocre right on the borderline of actually good but never quite reaching it which makes it very frustrating. The highs are in Season 1 and Season 3, with a few decent spots in 2 and 4.
Disappointment
Good animation wasted on lackluster choreography. Watch season three and drop everything else.
An overall pretty mediocre series.
Season 1 was mostly shipping wars, with a decent ending, but not good enough to make up for the rest of it.
Season 2 is just completely awful all around. Absolutely retarded villain, weird spirit shit and Kaijurra out of nowhere.
Season 3 is the best by far. The antagonists are pretty interesting and competent.
Season 4 was okay. Felt pretty rushed and disjointed, like they were trying to cram ideas for multiple seasons into one, but it's still better than the second.
Konietzco and DiMartino destroying everyting they built with The Last Airbender.
I'M THE AVATAR AND YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT!
>with a decent ending
I haven't rewatched it in a while so its kind of fuzzy, but for me it was the final few episodes of LoK that really put me off before season 2 killed it.
The pay off for Amon felt lamer than the set up. Though people really loved the murder suicide, it felt like the writers getting rid of an interesting problem they cant solve.
Korra finally being able to airbend felt contradictory from the idea I got from philosophy surrounding that bending. If airbending is about freedom and to a lesser extent letting go of earthly attachments, how does feeling trapped and pressured make it come out.
fuck you bolin is based retard
PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH
Why did Korra never energybend again?
How about you watch it yourself and form your own opinions, and not let imbeciles color your expectations of everything?
A perfectly fine show that somehow get treated as the worst show ever because of butthurt and autism.
4 seasons that all assumed that they would be the last
I'm still mad.
Korra as a show by itself is okay, I've seen worse shows and some parts are well animated and interesting to see.
The thing it's not a show by itself, it's a sequel, it occurs after the last airbender, and once you take the last airbender in mind, you would start noticing a lot of nonesense in Korra, to cite just one example, in Korra bending ability is inherited, in other words, if your parents are good benders, you would be a good bender too, which contradicts the original show conception of bending as martial arts, that can be learn and mastered with the years. Korra being a cunt is another complain, but the main one, at least for me is how the conceptions of the original show were screwed up.
not entirely true
season 3, the only good season was made knowing there would be a season 4
amon lin and tenzin are the only reasons to watch it
It's a 6/10, and most of that is production value. You already posted what held the show back, pic related.
Its a decent show.
Was only supposed to be 1 season with 13 episodes only, but got green lit to a total of 50ish so they had to crunch the 3 books pretty much all together. They were making 35 episodes at once which is pretty much everything after book 1. So with that in mind, felt like they did a great job.
It doesn't live up to Aang to most people, I respect what they did with it, Book 3 definitely feels like Aang level story and kind of is my favorite story out of the whole avatar series.
Just don't think about book 2 at all.
3>4>1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>what the fuck am I in for?
For disappointment.
Just finished rewatching season 1 today. The show has pretty strong worldbuilding which is probably the franchise's strongest trait. The modern setting might be bit off-putting at first compared to the original show's setting, but it grows on you after a while and there are enough references to the original show to keep you interested. I think the characters are all pretty engaging in season 1. The romance can be a little gratuitous at times, but the plot is executed mostly well. The season finale is okay, it hits all the right beats, but it definitely fumbles a bit and feels sort of rushed. Like others have mentioned the show was originally only planned as a single 12-episode miniseries only and the season one finale definitely suffers from this, but I still recommend watching the show.
Honestly, don't do this to yourself. If I could unwatch it, I would.
could have been a better show if they had implemented the avatar journey and removed the white lotus, korra already knew 3 elements at like fucking 4 and we basically have to deal with it, not having an avatar journey made the show completely stupid with stupid enemies and stupid issues like MUH equality.
a watershed moment for anime pornography with Korra being handcrafted to get dicked and eaten out. probably helped get more delicious brown girls get dicked and eaten out. the series itself is shit and not a sequel to avatar

enjoy your yous i guess
Tbh, I'd rather not the show follow Korra learning the elements like Aang. We already had that. I mean Aang was great but time wise was very unrealistic. We pretty much see him master an element in like one episode of each book. or in a timeline technically in a span of like 8 months.
