Why would anyone work for this company?

>Spongebob, FOP, Rugrats ran into the ground
>Shows like Teenage Robot and Chalkzone are treated horribly by the network and don't get a ceremonial ending
>Shows like Harvey Beaks and PGBC are dumped on Nicktoons and die a slow, painful death
>Hey Arnold and Catdog episodes were played out of order and had their final seasons stretched out over years
Need I go on?

Looks good on your resume

How old are you?

Do you really think that anything even resembling a majority of the people who are employed are happy with their jobs?

You take the work you can get. You can sweat the details once you have enough weight to throw around that you could conceivably have leverage. If you even get to that point, ever.

Nick is a genuinely evil company and I really hope it burns to the ground one day

Because it's where a ton of people get their start in their industry, and exposes you to the worst of the industry before anything else. As awful as Nick is, it's an excellent place to cut your teeth, and provides a place for people who went to to places that weren't like CalArts. As far as I can figure, it's like I work in the industry LMFAO

Cancelled Jimmy Neutron season 4.
Missed the revival and instead funded Planet Sheen.
Tuff Puppy Season 3 incomplete.
Danny Phantom reason for cancellation was because of budget issues.
FOP didn't have a theatrical movie (only special premiers) even though it rivaled Spongebob in ratings. Died without a funeral.
Rise of the TMNT wasn't advertised the right way, pissing off fans by showing the ugly teaser instead of releasing the pilot/first episode.

Nick trying to revive shows by specials first, even though some shows like Invader Zim need it before Rocko's Modern Life and Hey Arnold revivals.
There's a lot more missing from another user's post, but that's all I got.

>Rise of the TMNT wasn't advertised the right way
It would've been received better if they didn't make negative impression. Most fans that "hate" the show, didn't try it for five episodes to see it's not bad at all. The animation is it's saving grace.

> Endure the extremely shitty behavior and practices of others to make a living
That sounds like a terrible deal, anons

I guess the creators are just so determined to get their shows on the air that they’re willing to to risk.

>Shows like Teenage Robot and Chalkzone are treated horribly by the network and don't get a ceremonial ending

Chalkzone got an ending.

>Shows like Harvey Beaks and PGBC are dumped on Nicktoons and die a slow, painful death

Nobody liked those shows.

Kids now adults trying to recapture their childhood.

don't forget they finished The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius by January 2004 making the delays look even worse

Welcome the work force, if you complain you're just going to get kicked off and replaced

welcome to life, kid.

Chances are if you're thinking of working for Nick, the way they schedule a show you got paid for but didn't create isn't your top concern

If you look hard enough, you could ask the same question of any of the majors.
>CN
Lowest production budgets of any network.
>Disney
Closed culture rife with nepotism and creative interference.
>Netflix
Apparent political slant.
>Dreamworks
Focused on adaptations, so no profit sharing with creatives.
Say what you will about Nick, all those criticisms are true to various degree. But they're also the ones most receptive to outside pitches. As I understand it, these things go straight to the trash at CN after the Class of 3000 debacle, and Disney won't even talk to you unless you have an agent.

Netflix literally sounds like the best one to work for.

then make your own network

this is my favorite version of A Christmas Carol, fuck the police

Doing something you enjoy for the money is contradictory. Of course you are trying to optimize things to make the most profit, so that's why we see quality of art suffer over time. You either put your blood sweat and tears into something for free because you were inspired by something that wasn't money, or you are making drivel for the plebs.

Let's not pretend that Nick Animation is anything but a stepping stone for new grads.

Maybe. For a short while they were throwing money left and right and there are lots of stuff under development. But this may not last as Netflix would be just as happy to throw money at Dreamworks or Nickelodeon or other independent studios to make shows for them, and their views on show length would hard cap most at 3 seasons. A Spongebob-sized hit might never happen at Netflix.

you could say this about just about any studio at this point because they're all increasingly hiring nobody except junior artists who dont know shit but are naive and work a lot of free hours

Jimmy Neutron died because its production company died.

Me too.

With how much Viacom sucks off Netflix, don't be surprised if more Nick shows come to Netflix.

Don't forget they fucked up TeenNick and Nicktoons.

Don't kid yourself. They all have a political slant.

Netflix is just the most honest with it, for lack of a better word

>CN
>Lowest production budgets of any network.

Truest thing here.

>Disney
>Closed culture rife with nepotism and creative interference.

Don't kid yourself, Warner and any of the other networks also operate like this.

>Netflix
>Apparent political slant.

If your politically right cartoon had any merit, then they'd consider releasing it on their or any other network.

Netflix will take its sweet time releasing your stuff if it isn't already established or if there's drama with the licensor.

It is. But there isn't really a better one on the table. Right now established networks have a platform it's very hard to break into but also losing viewers at a steady pace. It's a scenario that lets them take workers with whatever terms they can set, but also encourages them to cut corners and play favorites.

Nick is still the worst one by far.
