When the “training” program mostly consists of beating the humanity out of you and hammering home the idea that it’s us vs them is it any wonder American Police are so aggressive?

And they typically only have one 8 hour training on how to de-esclalate a situation.

I'm reminded a lot of the 2014 NYPD work stoppage when they only responded to major crimes/emergencies and stopped doing QoL Citations, stop & frisk, etc to try and flex on de Blasio and inadvertently poked a major hole in broken window policing theory.

While i agree in principle the reality is far more complicated.

If they want to end police brutality real quick make civil penalties come out of the police budget/pension rather than the municipal general fund. Because right now if you sue the cops and win they aren't actually financially penalized for it.

A lot of that has to do with the thousands of false rape accusations that get tossed around these days. The police are so busy shaking down a guy that said "good morning" to the Pinkhair Patties that they aren't able to get around to the people who actually were raped.

You’d have better tech if you stopped spending the budget on military grade weapons, no one is expecting overnight results, just for a change to be initiated
