The film is called ‘BATMAN: SOUL OF THE DRAGON.’

The harley quinn one was a campy and weird movie. I'm not sure how this one will turn out.

Nice, I know a lot of people say his more recent stuff isn't good, but I think his stuff is always at the very least fun. His visual style is always THE visual style for animated super heroes for me.

Bruce Timm like Frank Miller before him, has lost the mojo he used to have and is now a creepy old man who Makes things that are simultaneously super edgy and dark and super creepy in a sexual way.

I mean who the hell thought vampire bat man, Mexican Superman, And having batman fuck Batgirl was a good idea?

I bet some people will call this movie cultural apropiation.

>having batman fuck Batgirl was a good idea?
That's such a small part of the movie though, I never understood how it mares not just the movie, but his body of work. And doesn't Batman fuck her in some of the comics before this as well? Hard to blame him for incorporating something from the source material (as vague as what "source material" can mean in this sense).

>vampire bat man, Mexican Superman
I actually haven't watched all these shorts. I saw 2, I think they were alright, hardly offensive.

Anyway, even if you think he's edgy and dark now, isn't his stuff at least still entertaining? That's all that really matters.

The rise of sin tzu

Is dick in it?

cute butt

Are they gonna push Harley in this one?

What people don't get is that Bruce Timm never really had anything to do with what made the DCAU good.
He's not a writer, he's not a director, he's an animator and artist.

This is why everything he's done that tries to sell itself on the DCAU legacy has been fucking shit. It's like how the Picard show gave Patrick Stewart a ridiculous amount of control despite having nothing to do with the actual creative part of TNG.

The plot sounds interesting enough, but if Dini or any of the other classic DCAU writers aren't involved, the quality's going to be highly dubious.

>richard dragon but with added batman
could be neat

Yup. I love the DCAU, I like the art. I watched some of my JLU again and I don’t think he was credited with writing them, so yeah.

If they do I'll lose all hype for the movie.

I hope it will be set in the DCAU

>having batman fuck Batgirl was a good idea?

Give one reason why it shouldn't

I feel the same way. Zig Forums likes to shit on anything if it isn't 100% perfect.

>vampire bat man, Mexican Superman,

Gods and Monsters was pretty based for an Elseworlds. I wouldn't mind a proper follow-up, though I really don't know where they would go from there.

The guys you REALLY want on your side are Paul Dini and Alan Burnett, they were the two most prominent writers for BTAS and for a ton of the DCAU after that.

Also Dwayne McDuffie, but, well, he's dead. RIP.

>And having batman fuck Batgirl was a good idea?
This was happening since Beyond.

I image it will be a lot more like Justice League vs. The Fatal Five than Batman and Harley was.
Less of a BTAS episode and more of a lost Justice League Unlimited episode.

Superhombre was fucking awesome, fuck you. Timm is past his prime though.

I'll get excited of Alan Burnett and Paul Dini are on board.

It was bad. You can say it was bad. It was directionless.

One. She’s almost twice his age. Two. She’s his best friend (commissioner Gordon’s) daughter, major conflict of interest.

On top of that. That whole part of the story seemed so. . . Disconnected from the part of the movie that actually was faithful to the original killing joke.

It wasn’t so much that I didn’t see the merit in his Grimdark version of Superman. It’s just. Well it was coming out off of the heels of Injustice 2 and Batman V Superman. Both stories that had Superman going bad and killing criminals. And well . . . That soured how i felt about Mexican Superman.

I want a good kind humanist silver age Superman to be popular again. I’m tired of grimdark edgy Superman. Regardless of him being a bad guy or not.

Burnett's comics are nice

>That whole part of the story seemed so. . . Disconnected
It was an entirely original story written to up the personal stakes for Batman personally, and to give Barbara something to do before she gets shot in a misguided attempt to give her something resembling agency while still befitting the mood of the story. Or they just couldn't figure out how to pad out runtime and just bullshitted something.

So are Dini's. Dini is actually REALLY good at writing comics, it bugs me that he doesn't get more work. I still very fondly remember his run on Detective Comics, back in the day. That solo Joker story set at Christmastime is probably one of my favorite one-shot comics ever written.

>I mean who the hell thought vampire bat man, Mexican Superman, And having batman fuck Batgirl was a good idea?

That movies was a great Elseworld story, and Batgirl and Batman having a relationship is just typical shipping stuff.

Maybe the reason he's good is that he picks his battles and doesn't churn out massive amount of garbage like almost every other comic book "writer".
