Oh they're old so they MUST be conservative

In a relative sense yes

I think Garrick is a New Deal Democrat... so by today's standards he's a conservative.

Wally's legit a republican afaik. I think in John's runs one of his villains was a union leader.

Goldface was a retired villain. He ended up helping Wally fight his ex-wife's new Rogues.

Alan Scott is a liberal newspaperman who regularly took on plutocrats and corrupt politicians. And his son is gay, which he is 100% okay with and supportive of.

Eff off OP.

Calm down, pissbaby.

Didn't they retcon him into him begrudgingly accepting Todd's sexuality in later years?

What conservative values do they have? Because I've read every issue featuring them and the only one that has displayed any beliefs I'd call conservative is Hawkman.

I guess they do have that goody two shoes commitment to the letter of the law that most heroes of the time had, which could be considered conservative. But things like traditional family values and religion, they've never shown any interest in, and Alan and Carter are about as far away from traditional family as you can get.

This is a difficult conversation to have now since the Republican party has kowtowed so heavily to the alt-right and tea party movements and those people are psychopaths, which muddies the definition of conservative in this day and age compared to the past.

Johns did write Wally as Republican, and Wally's personality in the 90's was drawn from Waid himself who leaned a bit more conservative at that time. Specifically Johns had him as pro-death penalty.

Garrick would be a radical on economic issues since the Democrats went full neoliberal and went to the right on economic and class issues.

I didn't know Waid used to be conservative. That's really surprising considering how far left he's shifted in the past few years.

No that's always been the case. He pretty much accepts Todd being gay because he wants him to be happy but still doesn't get it because he is a boomer.

Him being so vocally left is him coping with the fact that he's from the South and used to be a bit conservative.

Most of the time it's just Alan accepting what's going on with his kids while being the old man who is still slightly confused on what exactly is going on.

It's kind of annoying because I hate EVS and the boomers on youtube crying about SJWs, but then Waid is significantly more autistic then them and makes them look better by association.

Judge Jury is what every evangelical wishes he could be

Hal's always struck me as being pretty Conservative for some reason because of how involved he is with the military. Don't know why though. I'd say Guy is too. Kyle is probably Democrat while Jon I'm pretty sure is 60% Conservative.

I always like Alan being a sort of mentor to Kyle, wished Alan got to interact more with the other human Lanterns.

Because Waid has literal anger and mental issues, being on Twitter doesn't help that at all.

There's a real nice issue after that one where they have a ringsling battle to test the limits of Kyle's growing power that's just them fucking around. It's a shame that relationship (along with most of Kyle's) went away.

God, I love Thomas and Bruce being Alan fanboys, it's the same with Pa Kent being a huge JSA fanboy.

Like, I don't like Waid, and I'm honestly pretty conservative, but EVS and his movement of LARPers are legitimately bad people, and I wish "baste" normies would stop throwing money at his lazy ass.

What evidence do you have that these characters are "conservative" which is itself a very broad term?

I like that politics hasn't destroyed their marriage, since Clark is clearly a dem

Always funny seeing the JSA interact with people who look much older than them, but were children when they were active.

It's much easier for me to buy that Lois is a Democrat than a Republican, Willingham was just projecting.

Is gay young Alan even alive still?
