In hopes of brightening it up, I bring you a freshly scanlated eurocomic. This is the first volume of The Snake and the Spear, the new series from the guy who did Okko, a 10 volume long series following a samurai ghost-hunter in the Pajan Empire, a slightly askew version of Japan, with giant exo-suit combat bunraku.
Anyway, this one is a more historical tale, no giant robots so far, set in the aztec empire about 50 years before the arrival of the Europeans. This is a thriller/mystery, dead mummified kids start appearing and a travelling merchant is enlisted by his friend to figure out what is going on, which seems to be somehow linked to his own past.
This is the first in 3 volumes.
Enjoy, and as always, please share your corrections, comments, criticisms and suggestions.
bumping for based storytiming. haven't seen it in a while

The author's footnotes can sometimes seem a little like 'Just according to keikaku' TL note, keikaku means plan.
I also couldn't find confirmation on some of their translations and comments, if I found outright contradictory English spellings, I tweaked them a little, unless it was plot important, in which case I left them.
Apparently this was done for every new Emperor, they had a coronation war to go get prisoners for sacrifice, and if you did poorly, it was a bad omen for your rule, kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy it turned your people against you a bit.
If you're interested in Okko, you can get the whole thing as:
The Complete Okko (2017) (Digital) (danke-Empire)
Kind of frustrated me when this came out, the publisher said they were unlikely to finish the series in English, so I scanlated it, and then they did finish after all.
It's a good thing, I just feel like I wasted my time.
