why do i recognize this...? i feel like it unlocked some locked away memory
baman piderman, old youtube show thats kinda sorta still alive but not really
baman piderman was popular back then for its randomness. weird nobody remembers it anymore at least on here
>the fuck happened
same thing that happens with any cartoon kickstarter- they take the money and then run for the hills
its randomness was part of it, but it also had some great continuity and a surprisingly organically unfolding storyline while still continuing to be random as fuck
member charlie the unicorn
remember when the pumpkin got carved and was utterly traumatized and in constant agonizing pain and then slowly started to decompose into sludge
and they played it for laughs
They're working on other projects. They've also worked on a bit of Adventure Time and Clarence.
“wow thank you loyal tans for raising like five times the funding we asked for and meeting every last stretch goal oops sorry we got other projects to work on now oh well thanks for the money
Alex and Lindsay got scouted to work on many, many, MANY animation gigs.
They'll eventually get around to finishing what they started with Baman Piderman, but they're doing the jobs that pay the bills first.
Somewhere along the way they made Later Alligator and that was pretty cute.
you'd think webtoon pioneers would have a bit more integrity
Do you guys think it’d be better or worse if Kickstarter forced you to set a deadline within the realm of like five years or so, at which point you need to have either delivered on your promise or give your backers their money back
they're best friends!
I remember this had a lot of episodes on Mono, I liked that it went to interesting places with the weird vine creatures and stuff.
no, some projects can take over 5 years to finish and its perfectly normal but creators cannot rely on the shit crowdfunding model forever, they should get together and lobby for some form of government support
Ah yes, MondoMedia
Happy Tree Friends
Dick Figures
The God and Devil Show
Zombie College
Dr Tran
What were your favorite Mondo shows?
Dr Tran by far.
>Dr Tran, is giving out, HOT DICKINGS!
>what? No!
>Take off your top and get killed by Greg Kinnear
>EVERYTHING IS FUCKING WONDERFUL
>opens a kickstarter and gets multiple times the asking price for a single cartoon
>lel sorry gotta pay bills :^)
i'm gonna kill you
I...I DIDN'T MEAN IT!!
DON'T BE ANGRY!!
I own a Happy Tree Friends DVD where they have animators and voice actors reading hatemail, it gets me every time. Might have to give it to HTF. youtu.be
in this case though, they got paid and then immediately started getting bigger gigs.. you've GOTTA follow through on those, to build a real career. They'll never fully abandon us, it's just...
shit that's coming back too!
You gotta remember, user, most of nu4chan is new as fuck
A big selling point was that the animation quality was really fun to look at.
I'd say plenty of people remember it, but people don't discuss it because what is there to say?
Anyone know what gigs they're supposed to be working on these days?
This thread has mentioned AT and Clarence, but that was a long while ago.
Dr Tran was great.
they finished all the kickstarter goals and then made a game. now lindsay is doing voice work for worthikids
>they finished all the kickstarter goals
did they?
Yeah
i thought it ended?
also did anyone else feel like the shorts became less funny and more endearing when the creator's wife started to work on them with him?
lindsay small's so cute bros
I’d rather round up and murder artists than allow my tax dollars to be given to fund creators of webcomics
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
