Why are there no good youtube channels or podcasts dedicated to comics and cartoons? There's plenty of professional ones about video games, movies and televison for all of Zig Forums is awkward stuff like this guy who reads stuff off wikis.

kevin smith.

people just get into weird conflicts about comics in general.

Cartoonist Kayfabe talk about all sorts of comics from alternative to mainstream and have had some great interviews with artists on their channel as well. They're the only channel I like outside of strip panel naked that actually talks about the craft of comics and breaks down why pages work.

Comics attract the most autistic video creators ever for some reason.

In my experience most comic channels are either talking about characters and arc in a broad sense or just bitch about comics and SJW's.

Mr Sunday Movies covers all the MCU and DC movies and does some comic book related stuff. It's generally a good show without much sjw or sjws suck content.

Comicstropes is actually pretty good as far as comicstubers go. He has industry experience, and you can tell he knows what he's talking about. Every episode is a cross between research and his actual expertise, and when he's definitely at his best talking about his own interests rather than his latest episode about the black writer.

There is ,not in english tho

cartoon channels are clickbait shit like "REACTION TO THE LATEST STEVEN UNIVERSE" or "THE MOST SHOCKING LOUD HOUSE THEORY" or shit like that. Very few that go into the history and ideas behind the medium. I guess there's a few Disney ones that are decent.

For the love of comics, Imperius Rex and Earl Grey are pretty entertaining

Seconding this guy, both of those are legit. Strip Panel Naked very consciously applied the Every Frame a Painting model to comics and is great for it. The creator's monthly magazine, Panel x Panel is also one of the only publications that takes comic books as a medium seriously. As you say most of the scene's editorial is just fanboyism.

I really like watching ComicPop.

Of the obnoxious outrage bait crowd, Ya Boi Zack is the least annoying and mostly just reviews comics.
Phil Payton covers Fox cartoons.
Occasionally RetroBlasting.
B- Mask's long Fantastic Four video was a fun watch.
I don't mind some wiki-type videos if occasionally there's an interesting one. Like ComicTropes's comic coloring video.
Cartoonist Kayfabe.

This is pretty neat.

I hate this guy since the Moebius video. Fucking hell the wiki "tropes" weren't that bad but the "french food challenge" was so annoying with most of the food being shitty ersatz

maybe because it takes a genuine autist to actually read comics. especially cape shit of all things. what a horrible fate.

>RetroBlasting
i can't stand him

Yep, this and his doomsday clock episode were what I was thinking about when I posted

>Occasionally RetroBlasting.

I watched him occasionally until I heard about his autistic tomfoolery, then I stopped.

Dumping The Master Race.

Vidya, movies, and television have a lot more people invested in review and analysis as a spectator sport. People don't actually follow online media criticism to learn or refine their taste, they do it so they have something that masturbates their existing notion that The Last Jedi is bad and Fallout New Vegas is good.

Because the public actually doesn't give a shit about comics and cartoons, and there's been far less pressure on those mediums to actually grow in the same way games and television have over the past two decades, there's no real product differentiation and no sufficient audience critical mass that's clamoring for content for their brand new reddit comment.

I don't know about comics, but I was a big fan of Shot Talk while it was running, where El Cid has podcast style conversations/interviews with people that work in the industry. Pretty interesting stuff

>Political correctness gone maaaaad Maso.

They're SJWs though. They're huge NuStarWars fans.

Are you fucking kidding.

They spent ages picking apart the last film and despairing over it.

In the first minute they literally call it out as underwhelming, obvious course correction, a tick box exercise and rushed.

Just because they act like adults and don't chimp out calling it the worst thing ever like Zig Forums would doesn't mean they're huge fans.

They hated RoS because it shat all over TLJ which they loved. They liked Solo and Rogue One and they like the new comics.
