Johns is most likely just less interested in comics now that he has a foot in the door at the live action adaptions. He stumbled at Snyderverse but Shazam and now Stargirl have been well received.

I don't think you understand that that user considers Johns' Shazam run on par with Bendis/Taylor/etc.. schlock and views it as similarly destructive of that character, and that the user doesn't consider him a lesser evil. Those have an end. An ongoing is different and written in chunks. The series is planned out and then the arcs are written in detail later.
