Didn't know what else to call it because I'm uncertain what the name of this universe is officially. Anyway lets talk about this incarnation, and where it is headed. How can the sequel improve the core gameplay? Side missions? Characters? Suits?
Also as I'm sure you're well aware, Miles is getting his own spinoff DLC for the PS5 launch. How can Miles play differently than Peter and bring his own unique gameplay experience?
And random thought; I want Insomniac to be brave and invent their own original character for this universe, be they supporting character or villain
>Writing They messed up by calling Betty Brant MJ and not going wild with Miles. Unless they get some new people in the scripts it's gonna keep being remixed retreads that are only interesting the first time. It has the fact that Peter isn't horribly OoC to its benefit, but so far that's it.
>Gameplay Unless they really overhaul the game it's fucked. The enemies aren't fun to fight despite Peter's moveset being great. Current token system makes the game tedious. Web swinging gets old once you figure it out because it doesn't require skillful execution.

I hope this gets in for Miles since I don't think they'll dig that deep to find alternative costumes and instead make more original ones which I'm not a fan of mostly. They need to up the difficulty and make the stealth more meaningful for Miles while appropriately nerfing his invisibility. I doubt they will tie in with the comics but I wouldn't mind a nod to them. Adding more things in the vain of tricks to make swinging more engaging too.
If there's suits then that's absolutely gotta be in there. I would assume instead of backpacks that Miles could tag stuff and you get backstory that way instead

Question is should it be shaded like the movie version or should they just integrate the design into the game's aesthetic? Remember they made a Spider-Verse suit for Peter, so it could look either way

You know Insomniac technically did make a new character, who was featured in Velocity. Do you think she has a chance to enter the game? user don't be a faggot and attempt to discredit me with your strawman arguments. Let me elaborate then; I don't like Insomniac Mary Jane because they were trying to make her something she is not. Mary Jane isn't the type of character that feels insecure about her boyfriend's career as Spider-Man, nor does she have a desire to "help" which ultimately puts her in danger constantly. Mary Jane is cool because she's Peter Parker's emotional rock, his anchor to a normal life which is all he really wants. Furthermore, MJ is a successful career woman with her own goals that don't overlap with Peter's life. She's been a model, a fashion designer, an actress, anything she could put her mind to. So no, my opinion doesn't just boil down to your buzzwords
I think as long as they don't bring back the side missions where you play as MJ/Powerless Miles, most critics should praise it just as much as they did PS4. They're just not interesting enough and after you're first playthrough they've lost their entire 5% of appeal. The Peter ones were ok I guess, for the Plot. I also think MJ was butchered as a character pretty fucking badly, if anything for the next Peter entry I'd barely focus on MJ and maybe introduce Gwen Stacy and write her properly. (But I doubt they'd do that, if anything MJ is just fucked for the rest of this series until she either dies or the games reach their end.)
Besides those 2 I think the core gameplay is solid, just give Miles his unique powers and have the Black Suit be actually fun for Peter to use I.e Web of Shadows. Everything else is in a good spot i'd say.

I don't really think you can introduce Gwen Stacy in this universe. Norman isn't even Green Goblin yet, and there's no evidence to suggest Gwen existed at all here.
