He isn't that mean though. He did some mean things to Sette, but she generally gives as good as she gets. Revealing her illiteracy is the only truly cruel thing he's done, and he got called out on it.

Yeah he also hates Duane, but Duane's an aldish abomination, and Jivi is all on Crescian propoganda against Alderode, but that's fair because Duane is all in on his hatred of Cresce.

Recently we haven't gotten to see Jivi's good side much because he's been stuck with Sette, but he's far from a bad person

It's kinda depressing that the only person besides Sette who REALLY sees Duane as a person rather than a monster or a simulacrum is Matty.

And lest we forget, even Matty doesn't like being around Sette much and he's the most innocent character in the story. It's only through his goodness that he realizes she needs friends, but she rubs even him the wrong way

I remember he once threatened not to be her friend if she didn't stop being a shit. But that's like when a kitten swipes at you, it means nothing.

I don't know if that's actually the case. Matty didn't want to kick water because he thought he might hurt it. Matty calls Uaid his baby brother. It's totally believable to me that he thinks that Duane is a monster or a construct and it just doesn't change how he treats him.

One thing I think is worth baring in mind that I remembered in a re-read, was that Sette also didn't see him as a man for the longest time. It took Falling Into the Khert(!) and seeing his entire last day and first death to realize that he was in fact not just a posh plod.

That's probably the biggest part that makes it hard for normal humans to see beyond. They see a plod and are used to all plods being very dumb and single minded, or purposefully programmed like a pyrmic to follow a series of conditional states. A "real man" plod just makes them think he's a very detailed pyrmic with a lot of if/else statements, or in the case of Timothy a collection of fragmented memories, not an actual soul shackled to a corpse.

Non-humans see him in a similar light to what Duane see's himself as, a monster. The shrine's two-toes and Minnow both thought he was some twisted freak made by the spider paws and treat him as such.

The only other person that might see him as a proper person is drawing twin, because she seems to have done the most actual paying attention, giving him the time of day, and the actual consideration in his backstory and actions to make her think he's a legit person. Also doesn't help that most people he meets and doesn't stay shackled too for long periods of time are either Cresians (which he tries not to interact with, at least not positively), enemies (which he murderates like a right proper attack zombie), or scares the shit of and then runs away from him.

Matty serves an important role as the only thoroughly nice character among a bunch of assholes. Quigs has death flags though.

Jivi's not really mean overall. He has beef with Sette for ideological reasons but he's overall compassionate and even heroic. He's just a little hot-headed and drank a little too much Crescian kool aid.

So anons, or ash if you are checking this time, could anyone help give some advice on a good pixel size for a webcomic or mango?

I've been wanting to try my hand at doing some basic comic sketching, probably little more than story boarding since I can't draw for shit, but I'm not sure what size I should be going for. How small before its impossible to read/see important details? How big is too big?
I know Ash's files are bigger than what we can see on the website, since there are higher quality patreon pages, but I'm not aware of what most artists go for in terms of their raw file's dimensions.
