Remember when SCP wasnt ran by hacks?

Who cares?

A fair contingency who wished the collective writing quality of the new guild wasnt dog shit.

Then make a mirror site instead of bitching about it.

I'm a fucking boomer, can someone explain how this SCP shit got started? I thought it was gay creepypasta cringe from the moment I heard of it, and really didn't think it'd become this big of a thing since it all being very obviously fiction ruins the appeal of that crap.

SCP started on /x/ in a thread making spooky stories. One dude wrote what would come to be known as the first SCP which is 173. The users there started to make more and decided to host what they made on an EditThis wiki but they later would change to Wikidot. The rest is history.

I knew it came from /x/ I think I was 18 when it started, but what the hell made it take off? The only thing about it I ever liked was the cum goblin and that's pretty new.

When it was first posted, it served as pretty alright flash horror filled with mystery. The first is the number 173, hinting at 172 previous. Little details liked that lead to the an interesting place to explore and it got popular because it was something everyone can contribute to.

>wasnt ran by hacks?
Or by trannies for that matter.

The crossover episode of the century.

That be interesting.

I see some people are still salty 2 years later.
I just checked RPC and the site its dead. The article count in the main series is small, and alexa.com couldn't find traffic info. SCP on the other hand, I can find traffic metrics for and seems to be doing fine.
The site is still going strong, and has lived through multiple schisms and rival sites. So I'd say it's doing something right.

>So I'd say it's doing something right.
Yeah. All I'm saying is that I don't get it at all.

RPC should have stuck by just being the SCP wiki but ran by different people.

Rick and Morty and SCP-173

add the space parasites that infest your memories and you got a good episode

It's an open forum for creative writing. Anyone can participate in it and the popular stuff rises to the top and Youtubers make a living reading it.

Like there used to be a canon and sequence of events. Then a schism between writers happened and one demanded everything he wrote to be removed when he left. So there is no cannon true cannon anymore. Just everyone's individual cannon. Most people subscribe to some form of the more popular ones laid out by authors.

I watched both interviews the Volgun did, and I'm not going to side with a guy that can't be tactful during an interview, and not swear at the opposite side.

I’m glad that CHAD Russian guy is going to shut the whole thing down.

>"Jerry, keep your damn eyes on the filing discount weeping angel while I get this door opened."
>Jerry slights turn his head to say something to Rick, resulting in 173 out of sight to get closer.
>"The fucking statue, Jerry! If it snaps your neck I am not cloning your ass back."
There is a lot of stuff Rick and Morty can do with SCP. The best part is that since there is infinite realities Rick and Morty have cross overed with SCP.

>It's an open forum for creative writing
not anymore it aint
now it's a personal website for a set number of accepted writers who are also free to edit, change and delete previous writers work as they personally please

Dude, he wasn't even close to being able to do that. He was severely limited to only Russia. He had no power whatsoever to do true damage

>goddamit morty, just wink one eye at a time, the only people who should be afraid of these things are pirates and people with nut allergies

>now it's a personal website for a set number of accepted writers who are also free to edit, change and delete previous writers work as they personally please
Examples because you are just being dishonest here. Are you going to bring up 049? That was rewritten under the permission of the original author.

>"Rick, it just gets closer when I blink one eye at a time! Oh geez, Rick!"

They've only purged dead articles from the mainlist. Things that had few up votes and were being forgotten. I do wish it was kept, as reading the early stories is a bit splotchy.

Aside from articles that break site rules I haven't heard of them altering writings. Though I feel your going to bring up the door-nob joke article, which I do think was in bad taste.

The door knob was rewritten by its author so it wasn't like some rando did it.

Despite the attempt at an OP this is clearly just another bitch and moan about SCP/bitch and moan at the bitchers and moaners fagfest
Drag your fractured asses out of here

>Scooby Doo

Somehow it's always a fucking man in a mask.
ALWAYS.

Plot twist, a Foundation operation to get the gang to believe the supernatural doesn't exist but soon they unravel this conspriacy and discover the true monsters that lurk.

I binged Kipo. That girl is getting locked up and amestitized. The researchers would love her, and her dad. Dave would get a light D-Class treatment, since his immortality is useful. Benson would be mind wiped and given to foster parents. Same with wolf. Scalemane gets a Thaumiel listing and lives his life in a cage, having his sweat harvested. The GOC would probably try and kill Song, and foundation would be tempted to let it happen. If they have the bigger prize.

I think all the wonder beasts would be corralled on an island in the pacific. At best.

>Dave would get a light D-Class treatment, since his immortality is useful
Nah, they wouldn't use him for that. This isn't like how Lord Bung writes his character. Immortal characters are treated by the Foundation not as test subjects since their mental well-being needs to be kept as best as possible for easier containment.
