Maybe the plot isn't amazing, but there is such a palpable atmosphere of dread in some of these scenes it's unreal. It's also pretty funny I guess

It was originally made as part of Cartoon Networks's Cartoonstitute Project. Similar to the What A Cartoon show it was supposed to produce around 170 (I think) original pilots and shorts. Project was cancelled when CN Real was being pushed because CN wanted to compete with Disney and Nick's live action garbage. It was why Craig McCracken resigned form Cartoon Network. Some disgruntled employees leaked about 12 or so of the finished shorts. Danger Planet was one. Others were Three Dog Band, Yes, and I think the pilot for Uncle Grandpa.
