The state of Disney storyboard directors
The state of Disney storyboard directors
I don't get it
OP is a poorfag
>imagine being a professional artist and still using a laptop as your main device
Invest in a desktop, and no not one of those overpriced door stops made by apple.
me neither
>some dude makes a tweet on their personal twitter account
>complains about a mild inconvenience
>"this warrants a thread on the comics & cartoons board!"
wish you twitterfags would die already.
This guy was given what's probably the best drawing tablet out there, and he's complaining about it.
rather than just move some shit, people would rather get online and complain
We all know you secretly love it
No.
>some dude makes a tweet on their personal twitter account
>complains about a mild inconvenience
>some dude makes a thread on the comics and cartoons board
>"This warrants a post about my disdain for this thread!"
Don't open the thread if you don't like it, fag.
>given
they lent it to him.
if it was free he wouldn't be complaining
I'm tired of seeing these worthless threads spammed on the board. What value does it add to the board at all?
At least he has the chance to work from home. Besides Disney sending him a new desk I don't see many solutions to it.
>Having a desk so small you can't fit two monitors
>Still using a laptop to work
If this dude is a director, he can invest couple hundred dollars in either a bigger desk or a desktop. I know how fucking much those director union rates are at Disney, don't act like you can't spend a couple hundred.
What would he normally use to do his work, if not one of those? What's the industry standard?
The same dude was bitching about having to work from home back in March
he'd be using the same thing, only somewhere he didn't have to move his own shit out of the way
>being a professional artist and still using a laptop as your main device
Why the hell not? A good laptop is more than enough.
Lucky bastard, I wished I could do that.
hi gamer
Most people who do actual work on their computer don't have any practical need for a desktop and in fact would have to suffer through many unnecessary downsides if it was their primary computer
This. I do art professionally and the only reason I would consider getting a desktop would be if I switched to doing more heavy-duty animation, and even then a high-end laptop should handle almost any animation software with ease. Desktops and clunky and inconvenient
>Most people who do actual work on their computer don't have any practical need for a deskto
Try editing film, creating 3d graphics, or animating on a laptop. You'll be singing a different toon, I know what I'm talking about since I do all that. The only use for a laptop is for working on the go and nothing else. A desktop is superior in every way for performance alone.
Plus it’s nice to be able to bring your work with you.
This guy started on Hey Arnold, he's been in the business for 25 years.
OP is pretty much just bitching about a boomer bitching about modern stuff like that's noteworthy in any way whatsoever
>editing film, creating 3d graphics, or animating on a laptop
note "most people who do actual work"
Those are niche tasks that the vast majority of the population have no need to do.
Even then 3D/rendering is the only thing there where it's particularly relevant anymore, a decent modern laptop has more than enough power to edit 4K video and handle any realistic 2D art task
I think most people who’re taking offense to this are miffed that he’s so quickly dismissing what is, to them, a very valuable device not to be taken for granted. They don’t realize the reasoning behind his bitching.
What value does your whining provide to the board? Report and move on if you don't like it.
Gonna tweet him from my PoC sockpuppet about white privilege and see if I can get him fired.
lmao i have a 24 inch cintiq, a 24 inch monitor, and a 13 inch surface book pro sitting side by side on my big ass desk right now.
>a very valuable device not to be taken for granted.
This, he's calling a $2,000 piece of equipment that every artist would love to have annoying because it takes up too much desk space.
To be fair I've also seen much younger board artists say that their Cintiq has slowly devolved into a $2500 stand for their iPad Pro, it seems like in general they're big clunky cumbersome things that are disliked by people who are forced to pay Burbank rent and so live in a small house
Why not install a wall mount, then?
this. people who insist all you need is a laptop probably never experienced dual monitors and/or a huge tablet screen. and if you're touching anything other than 2D illustration programs you better have a desktop.
gamer go back to your own boards, we have lives here
