Ben Grimm is best boy.

is his penis rocky too?

Yes, he does indeed have a rocky penis.

Is that a sentinel in bottom left?
What's the occassion?

This was concept art done by the amazing painter Alex Ross, as he pitched a FF miniseries that follows the 60s aesthetics. Of course this was pitched in 2016, so it was unfortunately canned though to movie rights and other circumstances.

Is there hope now that the mouse got his damned movie rights back?

What would you recommend to a begginer? Where should I start?

If you like older comics, start with issue one volume one. There’s no real consensus on when the classic run (1-102) ‘gets good’ but I like it from the first issue.

Hopefully it does get pitched but it’s already been half a decade since it’s been scrapped, so I’m not sure.

I like the Silver Age so that sounds good to me. Thanks!

I’d argue that the Silver Age was one of the best eras for the FF.

Weird Ross should have gone full issue seven and based the robot on the Kurrgo sent to Earth

Screw It, We're Just Gonna Talk About Comics podcast do a full rundown of Lee and Kirby's run on the FF

for me, it's hickman

Based.

Concept > Execution

What about the OG run by Lee and Kirby?

No, according to him in the interview in Back Issue, it got canned because a writer (I assume this is Slott) had already pitched and got approved before Ross's pitch could go through, or something like that.

Really now? Well I kinda fucked up my info there then.

It's in Back Issue #118, I think you could probably still buy it on TwoMorrows' site, but no one uploaded the digital anywhere else.

In the interview Ross said that he pitched it to Brevoort in Spring 2017. He said the reason it didn't go through was someone already made a deal before him--said that Marvel's most popular writer had the wise move to renegotiate his exclusive contract to have the option of a first-pass on handling the Fantastic Four, and probably had renegotiated his contract a year before Ross had submitted his pitch.

I should’ve delve deeper into this pitch then, because I now look like a fool for saying something inaccurate. Thanks for the info user, I appreciate this.

It's a pretty good interview. I didn't know Ross was friends with Rich Koz/Svengoolie.

Nice

The one where Sue got Blacked in africa.

Really my guy..

wait what? can I read moar about this?

user right here has more knowledge on the subject than I do, so you can tell him that here .

I just finished Hickman's run on Fantastic Four and Future Foundation. I liked it quite a lot. I got to see some Franklin and Valeria shenanigans, I never knew too much about them before. Valeria's attitude towards Doom was adorable. The other Reeds were pretty interesting. Thanks to misreading wikis, I had mistakenly thought Reed's dad was Kang the Conqueror for a few issues. My favorite web-head showed up, and hell even Leech was there. In fact, I really liked the Future Foundation kids. Sue and Johnny each got to do some cool stuff. Lots of sci-fi stuff going on. With moloids, the Negative Zone, Galactus, and Inhumans, I feel like I got a pretty good taste of the Fantastic Four world. Blackbolt in this run makes me want to try out some Inhuman stories next.

Shout out to user that was storytiming some of the classic FF issues with commentary weeks ago, it really piqued my interest in the team (along with the MUA3 FF/Doom story DLC). Sometimes Zig Forums is pretty alright.

Side note: In MUA3 the FF have their Future Foundation costumes as alternates but they just gave Johnny the one Reed wears, it's lazy and a bit disappointing considering some of the other costumes like Planet Hulk, Carol's old costume, Gwenom, Ultimate Thor, and many others needed reworked models. Johnny just needed a different texture, but then I guess he wouldn't match if he was the only one with a number on his chest? I dunno. It's weird and I wish they did something else, like his negative zone suit. Their default suits are mostly black and alt color for those is red, so no mostly blue costumes for any of them either. Odd choices for an otherwise fun DLC.

Indeed he is.

anything larroca did with fantastic four.
did enjoy the reed swapping with doom.
but goddamn, the way larroca draw women. hot damn.
