Pretty much this. Zach, like a lot of the old newgrounds boys, has retained a reputation of being a smart ass who goes against the grain of the internet social politic. Nowadays e-celebs work to sanitize themselves lest it threaten their opportunities with the larger entertainment industry. But Zach is “old blood” internet famous since before traditional media started hogging the space. He’s stayed true to himself as a creator, and finally it’s looking to have paid off. The people who hate his type are probably mad because they couldn’t cancel him, and for all his obnoxious behavior he’s still turned out to be a hard worker and a decent person.
