But why didn’t the trucker go to his vacation home in Mexico?

Why couldn't he just drink? That would just harm himself

I really doubt that's their position, probably more complex than we know. Remember this was in the same season they were poking fun at Indian casinos.

>poking fun at one particular side means you only agree with the other

Thank You for Smoking handles the issue way better than this episode.

Their position has always been, that everyone is an asshole.

Except for fujos and Mormons.

I think it was mostly ironic, similar with the rainforest episode. What's the general consensus amongst people regarding this topic? Let's do the opposite, for comedy!

I remember I was randomly assigned the Pro Smoking side in debate class in highschool. That was a tough thing to research and defend, but I managed to intimidate my opponent with drawing a comparison between non smoking areas and segregated fountains.

To this day haven't taken a single puff.

Was this the same episode where the kids start to smoke because they cringed so hard at those faggy motivational anti-smokers? If so, this was probably just a huge joke at showing how lame and stupid the anti-smokers are, kill joys.

>Not enjoying cigars because "muh cancer"
Fucking pleb

>Indian
Native Americans*

Kys. This isn't Worst America where the natives get butthurt if you call them Indio. Many of them call themselves Indian too.

Saving the rainforest is totally gay

No, they were Indians, from India.

>"Duuuuuuuuuuude, what if both sides are shit. Like, what if we clearly consistently pander toward one side but make occassional nonsensical ad hominems towards them after clearly supporting their views so we can claim we dont take a stance"
Trey and Matt have always been obnoxiously obvious about being lolbertarians of the most retarded kind. Having a CEO be portrayed as whacky or something doesnt offset them being huge neoliberal cocksuckers that nonstop shill for muh big businesses.

Considering they went with the "think of the children" route with vaping, it has more to do with "people did it when I was growing up so that makes it ok".

South Park's only political stance ultimately is "people who care about things are gay".

You're right, it's a much better world where everyone takes everything very seriously and is morally indignant all the time.

I wouldnt give a fuck if southpark actually was whimsical and didnt give a shit about morals, but aside from the early kids focussed stuff where they do some dumb fun hijinks it's pretty fucking moralfaggy itself and tries to hide behind the whole "haha we poke fun at everyone" shtick, while that clearly isnt the case

>shitting on the rainforest because you're tired of seeing commercials about it

As an animator, it's nice to be pro tobacco since cigarettes just look cool as hell in animation.

Also, if you get your politics or morality from a cartoon you have larger issues than smoking.

SMOKE

It's interesting to watch Gnomes and Something WalMart This Way Comes. Did Matt and Trey really reverse course like they did with global warming?

what was the Fujo epsode? The Gay ship one?

It got it's point across. People like to judge others for things they don't like but in turn do things that others don't like.

It's human nature to want to try and feel superior to others but we all do stupid shit.

and i bet you'll defend cannabis to your dying breath even though smoking it is just as harmful for your lungs as tobacco.

Fuck off OP and let people take responsibility for themselves and their lifestyles.

That episode was still funny. I'm a big South Park fan, but I completely agree with that when they cut the bullshit and focus on the characters in less topical situations, the show is at its peak. If they want a platform to talk politics, Matt and Trey should start a shitty podcast; at this point even if they say something stupid, there's no way Comedy Cental would cancel basically their only cartoon.

It's not an either or binary, Southpark cares about some stuff and pokes fun at others.
You can dislike what they choose to lambast but there is nothing faggier than a world where we need to take everything 100% seriously and can't make fun of the flaws in widely agreed "good" things.
