I always find the way they portray them to be annoying, and usually the show is already bad.

The people who write them have such a sense of self-importance; I can't think of any western cartoon right away that had a great take on a serious hetero relationship, yet they think all of their shows have to check the gay relationship box for gay kids to feel accepted? If they care so much about LGBT kids and aren't just fujos, why do they so rarely write solo gay characters who aren't in relationships? Kids could get a lot more out of self-acceptance stories than watching two rock girls awkwardly make out. It's self-serving.
