>35% to 40% less than Trolls World Tour

I kept hearing it made twice as much as Trolls.

>Write a convoluted plot with no mystery
>Separate the gang for the majority of the film
>Replace Shaggy's (and the rest of the gang barring Scooby) voice actor with someone who sounds worse than a random youtube impression
>Manage to make a HB crossover (something that they've always done) forced and unnecessary
>It flops
Shocking isn't it?

Opening weekend perhaps but the legs were shit due to
1. Also being available to flat out purchase
2. Poor word of mouth
They've already reduced the price to 15 bucks

Based

Some people said that thanks to the pandemics any person would buy anything in order to get the kids entertained.
Imagine how bad that movie must have been.

This makes me happy. That movie was so fucking shitty.

Who's that?

Simone.

But user!
Velma is now latina and talk about "TOXIC MASCULINITY"!
kids love that!

Waifu!

Going straight to video really killed the movie. They needed the theatrical aspect to set it apart but without it, it's just like the other billion direct to video movies, except like 4x more expensive.

I'm getting an Aunt Cass vibe from her.

I liked it

Is this why Paramount hasn't committed to putting the Spongebob movie?

They must be really confident the theater situation will be better later in the summer.

I have a gut feeling that the unwashed masses are gonna be sick of staying indoors and will go to watch anything, even with restrictions such as half-capacity seating. We'll just have to see whether or not the attendance matches expectations.

Phew. Nipped that 'Hanna Barbera Cinematic Universe' crap in the bud.

Good.

Nice

I don't get why they're are trying for that now. Strike when the iron's hot. Besides Scooby the rest of those shows were old when I was a kid two decades ago. Would today's kids, or even thirtysomething parents, give a shit about Jabber Jaw or Captain Caveman?

Good.

It's a Scooby Doo movie that had suddenly-hispanic Velma read about the made-up-for-the-movie legend of Alexander the Great opening a portal to the underworld... and she just treats the legend as an objective truth.

"It says here that Alexander the Great opened a portal to the underworld, so it must be true!" Velma. Fucking VELMA assumes with NO evidence that a supernatural claim is true.

Every person that worked on this needed to be slapped (except the designer for Dick Dasterdly's model).

DICK DICK DIIIICK

Something tells me that any HBCU stuff will be HBO Max exclusive from now on.

absolutely not

>Monsterverse is the next one to fall.

I guess a Sia crossover isn't that outlandish.

>Strike when the iron's hot
They did exactly that, which was why shows like Laff-a-Lympics were a thing. This is just WB being desperate for any kind of movie universe.

Only Mexicans care about Top cat and Wacky races is a good concept to get people invested. Other than that nah
