Zootopia

Will the sequel address police brutality? In fact will there be a sequel at all?

The sequel will see Nick and Judy removed from the force so that they aren't technically cops.

I wanted the sequel to be about reptile immigrants, but that's too dated.

rabbit poon

Disney confirmed that’s there will be a sequel and it I’ll be centered around exposing dirty cops. It appeared in a article not too long ago, sources from some tweets made by one of the writers on the first movie

Should have gotten tv series instead
>tfw no prolonged discussion of the series
>less characters
>less story
instead we get another 1 hour 30 minutes of soulless 3d animation meant to appeal to the lowest common denominator

>But dorty cops are our friends! We pay them to not arrest anyone!

>is literally a meter maid
>people believe shes a cop

>Bagging on anyone else.

I would like to see a link for that. The writers have said it's happening before.

It's like Peewee and Tron.

Here is my own idea: they reuse the James bond idea they were first going for. And it's a metaphor about the benefits and shortcomings of being in the police force.
Jack Savage shows up and Nick amd Judy team up to help take down a new villain.
Judy and Jack would be solar opposites of Each other.
Judy Hopps is very adamant with the "innocent until proven guilty" process but Jack Savage is the complete opposite, "if this guy did it then he did it no questions"
They'll show both sides of the argument when it comes to policing:
>"If this guy gets away he'll just cause more trouble we have to kill him" Jack Savage would say
>"Killing him would just make us as bad as him" Judy would say.
The main villain would represent the ultimate downside of both their arguments.
>"People are more willing to do something as long as they're told not to. Therefore all laws and should be abolished and all cops should die"
The villain's motives would be that he has a huge grudge against Zootopia's Police Department over the death of his parents. He believes that if the police were not involved, his parents might have lived. His anger would manifest in the form of his evil plan: To take out all of the police departments in the Zootopia world in hopes of achieving his vision of an anarcho utopia.
Of course Just Hopps, Nick Wilde, and Jack Savage aren't gonna let that slide and are in pursuit of thwarting his plan and putting the villain to justice.
In the final act, our heroes show the bad guy footage of the fateful day his parents unfortunately died. And as it would turn out, the police were actually there to help save his parents from a criminal. And it was the criminal who shot the bullet and not the police. Shattering his world views and essentially "defeating" him.
The day is saved, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde confess their love(as really good friends) for each other and re-afirm their friendship, Jack Savage learns to be more kind and the end.

Can we please just have a bun thread without cop shit?

There’s no duality to it, police a literally abusing power, attack peaceful protesters (not rioters), the media, and in general grossly incompetent. Shit a recent video showed a white guy getting pulled over for going over 5mi, was non threatening, sitting his car, and the cop was on a power trip and was gonna mace him. Cops are meant to enforce laws and be peace keepers not killing people like in Dredd. Shit remember that 70 year old whit guy they pushed down, made bleed, and didn’t help? The office that did it was put on paid suspension and the cops on the riot forces resigned in SOLIDARITY with guy who pushed the old man down. It’s fucked and corrupt. It’s not a by partisan issue, fuck you can even say it’s not race issue (it is part of it), it’s a we have no standards for the people we give guns to and give them legal immunity to shit anyone else would go to jail for issue

Honestly the fact that she is a meter maid after receiving the exact same training as any other cop is a good take on a pretty notable issue with how cops in many areas of the U.S. work. It's fucking insane that the same person who could respond to an active shooter is the same person who could bust you for a broken tail light. Cops in America are either doing menial jobs that they are way overqualified for or responding to situations that they are incredibly undertrained for.

Welcome to the entire world, where nobody knows what they are doing and the points are worth nothing.

do foxes have knots?

Fucking this, there is in all likelihood a racial component in many instances of abuse by police, but in general, there is a problem with police abusing their power for all races, genders, religions, and age groups. Hell, I am white and I have had instances where a police officer was just fucking with me, I had a police officer kick me to the ground just because I happened to be walking near a protest and I was "trying to cross" a police line, I was walking to my hotel. This was around the time of Charlottesville.

Exactly they’re fucked, It’s not even “white cops”, I feel a lot of dumbass boot licker are trying to spin it that way, it’s all cops, black, Latino, white, mute, etc. they all believe in the “boys in blue” and the us v them mentality and it’s fucked.

>by the end of Zootopia 3, Judy and Nick end up leaving Zootopia Because they find out big cities aren't really worth it in the end.
>they end up being police in a smaller town for as they realize they have a better sense of community with than they would in Zootopia.
Huh. Idk just made that up on the spot considering what you have said and what's happening around the world. Personally, i think police in bigger cities need to be held more accountable. The lack of punishment some of them get for abusing entices them to get away with more terrible deeds.

What blows my mind is how fast people can shift their views on authority when it fits their narrative, or simply goes against their opponent's narrative. I live in a fairly conservative area and many of the groups that in the past have been anit-government and anti-police, including some libertarian groups and alt-right biker groups, have suddenly become pro-authoritarian bootlickers just because right this instant it's mostly the liberals who are calling for action against the police.

if they were smart, they wouldn't be conservatives

I 100% agree that police in big cities are the bulk of the problem, but rural police can real dickheads because they have nothing better to do. Granted their abuse of power mostly comes down to fucking with people at traffic stops but still.

Oh god police in small towns are even worse. Like where do you think all the tropes about corrupt sheriffs running towns or the sheriffs kids get out of shit came from? You’ll find a lot more corruption in smaller towns honestly, that goes for cops, and other form of local government

we have this thread every goddamn day

So first one was don't trust the government and the second one is don't trust the cops?

Noice

police brutality

Artist?

I’m not conservative but that us v them bs with the left and right is bad too and it becomes a boogie man on both sides. Honestly the two party system doesn’t work because left and right so nebulous, like on there’s so many different sub groups among each that are distinct that left and right can’t really apply to them. Like if trumprads where a separate party and then you fiscal conservatives, new age republicans, regan era, etc the list goes on. It would help present actual good (or at least more diverse candidates) for people to choose from instead of what it is now with two actual rapist, senile, retarded old fucks we have as options now that people have to vote for because blue v red

Politics have always been a part of every art form, like even preschool shows about “don’t be mean to people who are different” can be called a political message. Art and expression is a reflection of the views of the artist who made them. People who complain about it don’t realize it’s always been around they just didn’t notice it because they were dumb kids. There’s a lot going on in the world that unlike some random war in a foreign country, will directly effect people so they’re gonna talked about it. If you wanna ignore it all and bury your head in the metaphorical sand, then either say offline, or just don’t go to obvious bait threads like thjs

My home town has a population of 14,000. Within the past 5 years, our sheriff was forced to retire on accusations of abuse, the high school cop was fired for illegal searches of student cars, the middle school cop was sentenced to 5 years in prison for embezzling 50k from DARE, a city cop was sentenced to 14 years for raping a minor and traffic cops have been accused by officials in a local court of abusing their power during the peak of COVID by harassing citizens and questioning their reasons for travel. None of this is actually known to most of the public, my dad just happens to be a former city attorney and keeps me informed on city news.

>It would help present actual good (or at least more diverse candidates) for people to choose from instead of what it is now with two actual rapist, senile, retarded old fucks we have as options now that people have to vote for because blue v red
>He thinks this is because of the 2 party system and not just of how people are corrupt in general
user pls, I grew up in a country that doesnt have a party system and immigrated to america and let me tell you there will be no difference whether you have 2 or mutliple parties running in the election. Hell I can even say that populist like trump have more chances of winning in a multiple party system

The chief stuck her as a meter maid because he didn't like being forced to take a rookie fresh out of the academy as a diversity promotion to first precinct and wanted her to quit.

No memeing but im actually for disbanding the police and having private paramilitary organizations replacing them since they would be more effective and would have more power in removing the less desirables in our community than the police who are payed by the taxpayers

>Will the sequel address police brutality
Only in an erotic roleplay sequence.

Idk, I’m just sick of the shit we have now and want some kind of change. Or at least the illusion of choice ya know?

That's always the case, the smaller the community the easier corruption can florish due to limited people in control and working together. It's easy to bribe one or two civil servant in a village, but you can't bribe whole departments in a city with many people and many interests.

>I conform to the media, celebrities, and tech snobs
>that's how I know I'm smart

Attached: 1503882008-dcshhh3uqaefkpf.png (500x500, 39.51K)

How would that work exactly?

cites are much, much more corrupt than smaller towns

The first step is realizing that its not the instutions or the type of governments that is the problem but that humans are the problem
If you remove humans from the equation 90% of the problems goes away

I acknowledge the chief's reasoning behind what he did, but the fact that he can do it, and that many police forces in the U.S. function like that is a problem. The people who spend their careers doing minor traffic stops or monitoring for parking violations don't need to go through the full police academy, its a waste of taxpayer money. It should just be a completely separate department and in some places it is, but not all. Conversely, for some of the real intense shit police have to deal with the meager 13-21 weeks of training they receive is borderline useless. Zootopia, whether intentionally or not, exposed the problem of using the same training standards for ALL levels of law enforcement.

paramilitary junta thats doesnt answer to the government

The worst towns are midwestern ones in my experience

No, that's objectively proven to be bs, the more people get involved the more difficult it is to keep it secret and keep interests from clashing.

in terms of scale and money gained yes
in terms of power no
>t. career politician in a 3rd world country

Cities have political machines that keep useless politicians fat and happy no matter how useless they are.

That’s just a milita state run by corporations then

that will still be run by humans which will still cause problems

I fear the average big-city officer as much as I fear a small town traffic cop.

useless != corrupt

A mayor in a small town relatively has way more power than one in a large city. No press interest, limited people he needs to keep happy, direct influence on policy decision on permit levels.
