Different user, but after seeing some of the stuff for S5 I've been rather interested in watching it again.
Also OP here. It's a fantastic movie, and if you want an enjoyable TV series, I'd suggest Kerubs Bizaar and then the Dofus movie. While it does have comedy and can be a bit rough, it's a solid watch.

that said, there were, what, 136 playable characters? that's way too many to give a shit about nost of them
the music was excellent, but the leveling system (beat a boss, level) was lame imo

I would go through the whole list,but I will instead modify my previous statement for clarity - I do not believe any game before or since had the raw nexus of exceptional creative minds collaborating as chrono trigger- it was a dream project headed by the best in the business at the time. saying 'best game' is a purely subjective statement, after all.
I also believe it has the total package of style, length without being onerous, characterization, plot, mechanics, interactions, and variety that most other games dont match.
