I wouldn't go that far; lots of plants and animals abuse other plants and animals. You can even go as far as saying all predatory animals and plants "abuse" the ecosystem. I think it's just a question of scale. When humans, who make up 0.01% of Earth's biomass, threaten to make Earth inhospitable to most life on Earth's surface, that's kind of a problem. Ivy's solution is to eradicate humans. If another lifeform was threatening to destroy life on Earth, Ivy might well go against it too.
