If Steven wanted to be with Connie forever in a good shape, he'd have to kill her, maybe in her mid thirties, then bring her back. She'd be immortal and pink. Who would want to hang around forever with a 90 year old woman at the end of her natural life?

Is Steven even immortal? I never understood - the show certainly implies that his human body will age and die (both in that early episode where he shape shifts to old age, and also with the movie/SUF showing his physical aging). I guess after this happens, his gem will just be separated from his dead body and he'll reform a hologram gem body like all the other gems, like what we saw in Change Your Mind? But Change Your Mind also seemed to suggest that his human body and gem body are somewhat distinct, so does part of him or his personality die along with his human body? Arguably that's kinda what happened with Rose with Steven's birth?
