Perversion, fetishes and general understanding of deviancy has actually made it extremely easy to write stories and characters, considering fetishes are just and easy barrel of tropes to choose from and work off of.
And being able to use nuance has reduced like all of my hangups when it comes to making characters.
This realization came when I found an old drawing of a character I made when I was a kid, I was a huge fan of Ninja Turtles and Godzilla and the like so I made a cool Lizardman Hero with super strength.
When I saw the drawing again I thought, "Hey it's my old lizard dude character, those were the days" and a voice in the back of my head thought "some barafags and scalies would totally want to bang him" at first I was uncomfortable, but then I got over it, people are always gonna be horny, it's just how they show it that matters.
