What's obnoxious about Zuko fans is that they claim he's a villain redemption arc. He isn't a villain, even at the start, he's antagonistic, but not the antagonist - he's a fellow Protagonist with Aang with his own Hero's Journey

Good Morning!

You can be the protagonist and also a villian

whats obnoxious about zuko fans is that they will overanalyze literally every frame of the fucking show and find some way to pretend its ultimately proof of how great a character zuko is.

Except he gets pretty much the same amount of attention that Aang gets - they even share a backstory episode
You can, but you can't really call Zuko a villain, can you? The dudes like 16 and just a pissed off kid with a shit family. He's an antagonistic role, but not really a villain

His fans also simultaneously believe Zuko had the greatest redemption arc of all time and also that he was never really at fault for anything.
I noticed this once when I pointed out Zuko really never did anything wrong, the response I got was a Zuko fan who wrote a list of all his so-called mistakes, but then that guy got like 5 other Zuko fan anons kneejerk replying to him out of context to explain why none of those were actually his fault. was pretty eye opening.

zuko gets wanked by avatards way more than aang gets. you wouldn't even know aang was the main character of this dumbass show

Thats my issue - everyone says he's a redemption arc, but the reality is that Zuko is just as much a kid as Aang - he's not meant to be an example of 'yay evil can be redeemed' but the point is that Zuko was a kid with a shit family - He's a kid who got fucked over by shit adults in his life and even with the help of the most helpful adult in his life, Iroh, he's still just a teenager praying he can get back into the good graces of his family again - and he doesn't even know that the reason why Ozai was so cruel to him was something out of his control.

His mistakes aren't villainous - again, dudes just a kid and had to navigate shit way out of his field that he never had control over

They're always wanking over how troubled he was not that he never made any mistakes, a season finale was dedicated to him making the wrong choice and he's always doing things like abandoning Iroh. His actions being understandable doesn't make them right

Seethe Ben cuck

wanking over how troubled he is, is annoying as fuck. zukofags seems to believe zuko's quality as a character is directly related to how pathetic they headcanon his childhood

comments like this are why zuko fans are THE most obnoxious

They are as obsessed with him as Zuko is with the Avatar

>cant talk about the show anywhere on regular social media without these abrasive zuko fangirls policing the whole fucking fandom

People usually like characters with flaws and understandable motives, Zuko is really strong conceptually (scarred exiled prince wants to restore his honour) and they landed it pretty well hitting all the right beats thus the popularity

Would Avatar be better without Zuko?

typical pretentious zukofag response rationalizing your own pretentiousness. zuko is a pretty boy character with a sad backstory that females feel sorry for and he cried and got forgiven. thats it. thats why he's popular. stop acting like he's really a deep character and not any more well written than cinderella

su

Didn't Zuko fuck up a few times and had to work his ass off to get back into any sort of trust with the Avatars friends?

Seethe

No.

are you really acting like zukofags didn't seethe over the other characters, especially katara, not forgiving their pretty boy self insert immediately?

Maybe younger fans and fans from the 2005 original airing? Haven't really noticed with the current resurgence

I love Zuko, he's my favorite character, but even I know that he fucked up and needed to take the time and effort to mend those bridges

No

We Seetghe over Zukofags but the truth is that he's got a great character arc

he's a deuteragonist
he's the picture in the dictionary next to the definition of the term

You're just being contrarian, obviously he is a more interesting character than Cinderella you won't see me writing long paragraphs about why he's so great it was just a simple satisfying story. ATLA has the benefit of cutting out needless complex bloat you'd see in Zig Forums property where I'd point to other notable "redemption" storylines

no
fuck you
all of your opinions are retroactively invalid

to be fair you have to be an insufferable redditor to fully appreciate rick sanchez
possibly my least favorite grey delisle character and i'd fuck grey stupid if tara wasn't available

Zukos entire character arc hinged on other people giving him chances he didnt really deserve or just generally being better people to zuko than zuko deserved.
Starting with ursa, the mother who had no reason to be the way she is in a culture like theirs. The fact that she is so outlandishly kind and nurturing is kind of funny and awfully convenient for fire nation nobility.
Then with iroh, the uncle who's also conveniently kind and nurturing more than he has any right to be for that culture. Who conveniently sees zuko as a son and gives him unlimited chances no matter how brutally zuko betrays him.
In fact, zukos entire character arc hinged on ursa overcoming her abuse long enough to be a saint and savior for zuko, aang and his friends not telling their attempted murderer to get the hell lost, and iroh also not telling zuko he blew his chances.

>ursa
she's a horrible parent specifically to set up zuko's character with little to no organic reasons for her actions.
