Teach the lesson that apparenrly they wanted, at the time (and considering tehre weren't any signs of S3 and all the news we got where "there is going to be a special TV movie") it seemed that Star was gonna have to leave earth forever, so it would have been cool if the lesson at the end was that you can't always just cry/bitch your way out of something and force others to follow your way.
