Viren did nothing wrong GAS the ELVES species war NOW Claudia a best stinky elf = dead 358574681 dead ELVES Xadia a fuck

I don't think this show is getting cancelled, I am pretty sure they are doing a panel for virtual sdcc and are gonna announce season 4 there.

This.
It looked like "canceled" because people are used to how Netflix "seasons" get announced for animation. But Netflix seasons for animation are just them going "oh it's been renewed!" when in fact the showrunners were promised a big number of eps upfront. This time it actually required a green light for making more.

We would've seen more departures at Wonderstorm if things were really fucked over there, and maybe some frantic efforts to try and get another network to pick it up.

COPE

No skin off my back, user. The first few seasons were "it has potential" level storytelling never getting further. Maybe it is canceled, I don't know.

But considering it's Wonderstorm's only property, it would be damn weird that most of the staff is still on payroll if they were definitely canceled. Linkedin profiles still show most of the crew still there.

ever wonder why your threads never get a lot of people in them op

I am hearing thing about there being an announcement during what would have been the SDCC panel, which is now to be held online.

But, rumors, salt of grain, etc.

Speaking of, Green Lantern.

Volpe is one of the few that had already left. Meanwhile the rest of the staff haven't updated their linkedin profiles, they're all still at Wonderstorm.

Wonderstorm has also always been working on a game, so they do have that going for them from the standpoint of keeping people employed. It's worth remembering that on top of Ehasz working on Avatar, him and the other two cofounders all worked at Riot previously. I don't exactly view that as a good thing, but it's an important perspective when considering the future of Wildstorm.

I'm not sure how easily something like storyboarding translates, or even how the work is split between Wonderstorm and the production studios like Bardel that they use for the show, but I'd imagine that there's a decent amount of work that could keep an art team busy.

>Wonderstorm has also always been working on a game,

A Dragon Prince game, to be specific. If Netflix pulled the rug out from under them in terms of axing the show earlier than Wonderstorm had been planning on, I'm pretty certain we'd be seeing plenty of other red flags.

As it stands, this really does look like what you'd expect if an animated series was going to be "re-evaluated" after the initial run finished. Normally they get greenlit so far in advance we don't even notice a break. Considering it takes longer to make animation, if WS needed to air the final ep of season 3 before Netflix agreed to make more, we'd expect a longer-than-usual gap before any announcements.

Again, I wasn't a huge fan, it's been pretty flawed, so if the announcement is "no more animated DP" I'd just go "oh that's a shame, oh well." But I don't think we've seen the sorts of things you'd expect to see if the show got axed.

Does anyone know about that book which came out?
If it’s set after S3 does it suggest what might be happening in S4 or anything?

There's a novelization of season one that's out but I haven't seen anything about it providing insights into future seasons.

There's also a graphic novel, Through the Moon, that's slated for september with the premise of returning Phoe-Phoe's feather to the Moon Nexus. A few preview pages have come out but I don't think they suggest anything definitive. Those pages involve a Rayla dream section that involves her parents, leading some to believe that we'll see something about them and the other elves that Viren encoined, but that's something that I think was already speculated.

I saw a summary of a book talking about how humans and dragons had put the past behind them after Zym was returned, I thought that was the book which was just released.

Here's that Through the Moon preview if you're interested. Might have misrepresented Rayla's dream given that other characters appear but the gist of it should be pretty clear.

That's part of the summary for the graphic novel

Nice, thanks!

>Rayla in PJs
Cute!
One of the drawbacks of the show using 3D models is the fact that clothing are part of their models. So it seems to be discouraged for anyone to ever change clothes if it means they have to create a new model for it, in a medium where re-using assets as much as possible is more time/cost effective.

God fucking damnit I just wanna make that adorable little butter bean a big cup of coco.

Loved this show. I unironically crush on Rayla hard. Quarantine is getting to me anons. I need to see 60fps women again.

It just doesn't feel right without some forced attempts to write her accent.

How do people think the Viren/Claudia/Soren story will end?

>Viren
Depowered, turned into the sole merchandise of an elven-patroned brothel.
>Claudia
Queen of the humans, but basically as a figurehead due to her powers.
>Soren
Lone wolf type wanderer, will do a lot in restoring good will between humans and elves but won't have much personal happiness.

>Queen of the humans, but basically as a figurehead due to her powers.
Thinking back on it, Viren could've appeased all parties if he'd just said he'd name Claudia his heir and that she would marry Ezran.

Seeing Claudia do something super-bad for Aavaros makes Viren realize that he done fucked up. He fucked up. He fucked up big time.

Cure redemption, possibly with a side of self-sacrifice.

Being surrounded by honest-to-god morons has made Viren think he's smarter than he is. He doesn't give things as much thought as he should.

perhaps because of the recent rise in popularity again of Avatar, they found out he was the head writer of the show and then what happened and thus the new wave of hate again from them

Good for Aaron for standing up for himself, though he's just inviting more headaches in the long run.
