I actually do know a bit about this, megacorporations like nestle/unilever will do really infectious advertising to low information households about formula, its their main market hence why lots of firstworlders will resell formula back into the third world. Not only this, mothers will get really really defensive when you tell them what they've done for their child might've been suboptimal, and so they become really defensive about formula feeding

Yep. Lots of babies in the 3rd world grow up stunted because mom was told breastmilk would hurt her baby, and had to resort to formula watered down with puddle water.

i fucking hated breastfeeding. It felt painful and disgusting and dehumanizing because my son couldn't properly latch. I switched to pumping and still had constant issues with cuts and infections. You best believe I got a lot of shit for bottle feeding the next one.

I don't think I've ever actually heard of a woman not having problems with breastfeeding, honestly. Both my sisters had problems whether it was from not latching or not producing enough and eventually just switched to pumping or formula.

That's usually how it works.
You don't hear complaints about anything if it works how it should.

specifically i recall nestle got shit on because they advertised formula extensively in a number of african countries where a shitload of impoverished people dont have access to clean drinking water, the problem being that a lot of formulas are sold as powder to be mixed with water
