Is it a good comic?
Is it a good comic?
Yeh
The quality is all over the place
The first two volumes are pretty rough art-wise and the last one was rushed so it could be released around the time the movie came out
3/4/5 breddy gud
Why do so many people dislike the last couple of volumes? I never understood.
It's well-drawn diarrhea.
It's a good game and a better movie
If you are the 14-20ish young male burnout demographic then it is absolute kino. Other than that, a good read that will entertain you with either the plot, humor, or illustration.
I felt the quality taper in volumes 4-6. Overall though, and volumes 1-3 in particular, yes it's very enjoyable
Kim pine is hot. Post Kim pine
If you like soap opera, yes it is
It's just Scott forgetting and relearning the same lessons for two whole books. Everyone gets their asshole attitude cranked up a notch, and Gideon reveals he actively made Scott forget his misdeeds for some reason.
Volume 6 is the best drawn and style wise, but it's the second weakest next to 5 as a story.
scott forgetting valuable lessons is the most scott thing considering he's a cunt at heart
No.
Tfw recently got a redheaded girlfriend who can play music super well, is super nice, and loves Scott Pilgrim. Finally got my Kim
No
Lucky bastard
It's good if you remember that most of the characters (except Wallace and Kim) are awful people, and even Kim needed to learn to let go.
>Movie is better than the comic
Wrong
The movie was a 'guy fights and gets the girl' with slightly better jokes and special effects. It missed most of the growth the characters went through, and how Scott and Ramona were more similar than at first glance.
good for you user. don't waste it
>and how Scott and Ramona were more similar than at first glance.
This, the movie made it seem like Scott and Knives had a better connection, especially with the way they tag-teamed in the final fight. I was pretty surprised that Scott got with Ramona, who seemed like a terrible person in the movie. Then I read the comic and it made sense because Scott's a terrible person too.
Backwards tho that doesn't mean the movie is bad
haha funny gay poopoo buttsex epic gamer bro my girlfriend dated another girl? damn baby thats so hottt. haha ebin lol
Not gonna lie, as I was reading through it, I kept thinking "so that's what being attractive feels like"
>Hey S/co/tt!
It gets boring toward the end imo.
this.
I would've eaten this up as a teen, but I still enjoyed art and and humor as a 20-something.
Good on ya. And good luck.
>kino
Fuck off.
It really captures an era (2003-2010)
Starting in 2002, where the manga was really staring to hit different. This was the first comic that had the "manga" style but was clearly set in a situation I recognized, not the world of DBZ, One Piece or Naruto.
It's a fun little story about romance, commitment, growing up from the post-graduation, pre-real life funk that a lot of 20 somethings go through and about being a hipster, back when that meant something.
I think the movie kind of has given the series a very "Micheal Cera awkward comedy" vibe that is not present in the comic.
That is one joke. The concept its hacky but i like how its conveyed.
Any comics that capture the look and feel of the first 2 volumes? Rough indie art of random 20 sometimes hanging out?
It's cast of protagonists really captures the scene in Toronto in the late 90's early 2000's.
I mean, they are all 20-25 or whatever during the comics, they are still becoming adults. They have time to become not shitty people.
Op here. Gonna pull a "i was just pretending to be retarded" here and say i actually read scott 10 years ago and already think its pretty fucking good. The story can be very juvenile but to me it has the most objective quality art can have it fucking makes me laugh. Also the art is a treat, specially the colored version. That last part might be controversial idk. Do you guys like the colors?
The colors aren't bad in this specific case, but out of principle and nostalgia I must support a well done B&W comic
