I... I'm gonna need a minute.
I love howw he mixes live action with Animation. I kind of wish films like Where's Roger rabbit and Space Jam had the live action parts do something similar instead of relying on the animation being wacky alone.
Adobe is the Apple of software. Formerly the top pick among its' peers, got lazy with quality while the competition picked up the slack, and now is a shadow of its' former self and now relies on pure brand recognition and marketing to people who don't know better.
Good description
Kek, thanks for that.
Not only can I relate since I stopped using anything Adobe related since a year ago, but I got some serious Fatkidwithajetpack vibes from it.

Ew... new grounds style
It's worse as it's now an official standard for document control
This is all tech does anymore. Create a utility monopoly, enforce the monopoly.
I get a Gmod feel from the way he moves. Is it just me?
It's possible he might be playing back his own movement in a frame rate lower than it was recorded.
Yeah I actually have to sort though old versions of the software (looking at you Photoshop) to pirate now. I'm just to comfortable with flash to give it up as well. Even though there's no browser support for flash anymore, it's still the best animation software for people who are used to it.
Also, After Effects I use after a run through Sony Vegas sometimes for chroma key, bloom etc.
Honestly, if they got their shit together I'd pay for their products but until then I'm learning to use Paint Tool Sai for recreational drawing and still trying to find something new to anime in.
>anime
animate* wow this weeb site is really getting to me.
It looks like that he recorded himself, cut frames out to make it snappier, and made some adjustments in photoshop or blender to exaggerate some things.
I've been using a pirated version of SAI since I started drawing about 10 years ago and while it lacks a lot of tools I still haven't found anything else that's as easy to draw in.
I tried Krita but it's honestly one of the worst programs I've ever installed on my computer. Every time I try to use it I end up in a troubleshooting nightmare within 10 minutes. Bugs everywhere and you can fuck up your tools permanently just by pressing the wrong button on the inscrutable UI. I could rant for an hour about how much I hate this fucking program.
I wouldn't mind PS so much if the program(legit and pirate) weren't such a pain to work with. Both crash on start up if I don't load a file immediately and it regularly freezes unless I interact with another program and tab back. That last one is the strangest problem I've ever run into
>I kind of wish films like Where's Roger rabbit and Space Jam had the live action parts do something similar instead of relying on the animation being wacky alone.
I don't think we had the tech back then to do that.
I wish we could get more movies/shows in this style, but Hollywood is too fucking cowardly to do anything original anymore.
>while the competition picked up the slack
I'm not even being snarky or anything I geniunely want to know what to look out for, names please.
I miss Tarboy but I love this guy's weird-ass Toon Town villain style.
I'm pretty sure it's this. It reminds me a bit of some parts of Sin City, only way better because he can really lean into the physical comedy. I love it.
It really helps that he has the lanky physique and those giant teeth to work with. It makes him just so much fun to watch.
You should check out Sai2, it's great, and it's got file recovery in case your program shuts down without saving. It's saved my ass a few times
Sure.
In no particular order;
Photoshop (editing) -> Affinity Photo
Photoshop (art) -> Clip Studio Paint, Paint Tool Sai, Medibang Paint, Krita
Premiere -> Davinci Resolve, Hitfilm Express, Sony Vegas
Animate -> Clip Studio Paint (EX version), Krita, Pencil2D
If you're asking me personally, I use Medibang Paint and Davinci Resolve, they both work great.
It really depends what you need Adobe for. Blender has been improving by leaps and bounds and getting extremely feature rich and I know several artists that prefer Krita over Adobe's drawing suite. I've never used Davinci Resolve but it tends to get a lot of attention. There are about a dozen or more different video editing programs many of which you can get for free or at most a song that are pretty much on par with Premier. Those are just a few I hear about a lot I'm sure there are a lot more. The main reason I hear that people use Adobe products these days is that they don't want to change their workflow. There are still I'm sure some features they have that others don't but that list is getting smaller every day and Adobe as a company are kind of famous for waiting until the teeth marks are deep in their ass before they course correct, Flash being a great example.
Krita's gotten better and a huge animation update is planned soon, but yeah... they need to work on it more
>while the competition picked up the slack
What do you mean? I'm not a big fan of the way Apple runs their business but they're still doing pretty well in the markets they operate.
>got lazy with quality
For example, the state of the Mac is abysmal. The keyboard design not only makes it horrible to type with, but they'll literally stop working because of specks of dust. The only fix is a 2-week trip to Apple repair before you have to send it back in another 4 months. After 3 different post-2015 Macbooks, I just gave up and got a Razer Blade Stealth and never looked back.
Apple used to have a monopoly on quality and now, depending on product, it's either objectively worse or another drop in the bucket. Which is why I used it as an analogy to Adobe, which used to be king of creative software and is now getting beat by random indie software devs.
>Sony Vegas
as much as i would advocate using this in the current year you have to work around the limitations of such an old software. video formats today most of the time dont even work for it even some decently old mp4 encodes dont work.
I get that from the shots where his body is frozen & face moves
that was really good. I want a movie with that style of animation
What comic would benefit from this style of animation?
