Oh no! Who's next? Phil LaMarr?
Oh no! Who's next? Phil LaMarr?
Cleveland Brown
>accepting a role in Big Mouth in the first place
that was her first mistake
Big Mouth is still getting new episodes?
Those headlines make them sound rather racist.
For fucks sake. If you can do a voice that sounds right for the character it doesn't fucking matter. White can voice blacks. Blacks can voice whites. IT. DOES. NOT. MATTER.
>Big Mouth and Central Park
Literal who cares shows
racist
Since the supreme court has stated that Gender identity is a protected right can we do the same for racial identity? Can someone just balls up and say they're voicing someone that they racially identify as? Either race goes the way of gender loses all meaning and has to die all ways or Gender finally gets recognized as a scientific fact that can't be ignored. A win, win if you ask me.
this. I honestly don't think it should matter in voice acting. you're acting
mutt VAs suck anyway. give them blacks. wont make a big difference.
what non-black character has Phil LaMarr voiced?
Samurai Jack, Aquaman in the Injustice games, Philly Phil in Class of 3000...
Biological sex is a scientific fact that can't ignored but it seems to be terribly undermined lately
Hector Con Carne
No, he is safe. He's black
Facts, schmacts,
You're right about central park since it only just started, but big mouth has 6 seasons coming- that surely means SOME people care.
Yeah so what's to stop someone from making the claim that like gender and sex, race and geographic genetic hereditary are separate things? Just because your DNA doesn't adhere to your racial identity doesn't make you not the race you identify as.
So far the only shows replacing people are ones with bigger names attached to them and aimed at adults - I don't see anyone attacking Mary Elizabeth McGlynn or Crispin Freeman for voicing Connie's parents in SU. Not yet anyway.
>Race is a social construct and completely irrelevant unless you're racist
>But it's extremely relevant and only people of a given race can voice themselves, partake in certain cultural activities, etc
But, doesn't the second line of thinking make you racist and in favor of segregation if you follow the first line of thinking?
Give it time, the trend is just starting.
Cree Summer is about to be the busiest person in Hollywood
this. its called acting
are only people from other planets allowed to play people from other planets?
smdh
Vamp
rachel dolezal pulled that shit already
Missy... NOOOOOOO
Honestly, this. Doing this crap was more than likely a bid to get attention for Central Park because its the Literally Who of adult animated sitcoms.
Give it 20 years the tide will turn, we just happen to be living the transition
THIS. Unless the VA is over exaggerating and playing say a 'black voice', then I can see how that would be problematic. I didn't give any thought to Missy's VA
I can control my anger/frustration towards this when I remember that Hollywood people are out of touch and virtual signal in very strange ways
Yeah, especially since Bojack got canned.
The point they're making is that black people are underrepresented in the business and by refusing to voice black people, whites open up more jobs for them.
Don't you people like that? Creating jobs?
