Dino Charge is the best "recent" PR series. Ninja Steel was boring.

I know Power Rangers fans like to pretend it's more than just reshoots done on the cheap. That they seem to think the boring New Zealanders pretending to be American and the slightly different stories somehow outweighs the fact that nearly all action scenes and costumes are from Super Sentai, and that what little new material actually exists somehow distances it from Super Sentai.

But... This shit has been going on for nearly 30 years now. Power Rangers has done nothing to break free from Super Sentai, if anything they give even less of shit about doing that. If Power Rangers really was more than just the bizarre way of translating the Super Sentai shows, then they would have stopped relying on Super Sentai and started to make everything from scratch. But that's obviously not on anyone's mind if they use a show that's nearly a decade old as a basis.

Making everything from scratch costs money, doing the same thing they've always done is cheap and gets the toys sold, which is the only reason PR even exists.

I don't think they can make an original season, Toei may fuck them up by not using their footage, they can still add a ton of shit to it to make it different but the showrunners are cheap as fuck so...

You don't hear about them because they aren't popular anymore. They aren't popular anymore because they aren't good anymore. They aren't good anymore because there was a greedy Israeli who ran the whole thing into the ground and sold it to Hasbro.

okay what if there was a show where it was cops vs thieves, so you had two teams of rangers, you could sell tons of toys that way.

I love the idea that one of the most consistent and grandstanding enemies of the Power Rangers is just a blue collar bounty hunter. Not a galactic overlord (in fact he killed one of those), not an evil AI, not an ancient evil, just an asshole with a crew and a lot of ambition.

That's why he's so likeable. Him and his wife are basically Al and Peg Bundy as supervillains. It shouldn't work so well, but it does.

I know that since Samurai, they have been running a single season in periods of two years.

It irked me how they tried so hard to make him look lame next to boring ass Evox, when Sledge has done more damage to Rangers in general than that fag, yet still manages to be a blast.
