Finn is a teenager trying to prove hevs good enough, by doing enough good. But love, or even friendship, isn't transactional. You can't purchase someone's friendship or love. That's a though lesson, but one Finn had to learn.

There is and its because PB is absolutely toxic, especially for Marceline. PB sees everyone around her as objects and tools to be exploited & experimented on, something Marcy despises because of her Father Hunsoon doing that shit to her. Whenever PB gets bored of the person
she discards them. She never really changed in the end, she just learned to hide her bullshit. At best, shes just pretending to be good so she can get into Marcy's pants. Once PB gets bored of vamp pussy or Marcy breaks up with her again, PB will go back to being a piece of shit. This is shown in how she went back to her tyrannical ways in the end of the show and put everyone in the rattleballs in the series finale.

People are so distracted by their YAAS QUEEN for Bubbline that they'd support a toxic & dysfunctional relationship for the clout. Marcy's became brain dead armcandy for a candy assed female version of her father like a stereotypical Hot Topic Goth with Daddy Issues & an edgy deviantArt page (cough...pic related...cough...). Not only does it show the faults of Bubbline, it also shows how shallow and trashy the Bubbline fandom is.

The thing is that isn't how they are portrayed in the actual show. It's just your shipper autism. It is literally how all shippers sound when the hated ship becomes canon, it's not enough to not like it, it has to be abuse or shoehorned and ruined the show forever and everybody rightthinking hates it etc

PB has been shown to care more about Marceline than anyone else, though she seemed to care about Finn before but she got bored with him so it’s easy to see why people think she’ll get bored with Marcy.

i dont know about that i mean youre right about the pretty disturbing views she holds over her candy kingdom civilians but thats because most of them are for better or for worse stupid and dependent. of course its dubious in cases like rocco where she's callous and indifferent rather than nurturing and caring but thats all in the scope of the candy people being pretty mentally fucked up and her having to take on the role of a cold heavy handed ruler because ooo can be a fucked up and evil place and she has to be authoritarian lest it get taken advantage of. mind you the only time the candy kingdom was ever legitimately overthrown was when she voluntarily let it happen in the name of her candy peoples' independent choice.
i get that shes a character with dubious morals and you can argue both ways all day. but when it comes to marceline i think shes quite a bit different. remember how powerful the sentimental attachment to marceline's shirt was? that was blatantly demonstrating that the love and care she has for marceline is strong enough to raise an ancient and all powerful elder god from its indefinite slumber, more powerful than hambo, which was powerful enough to crate a literal rift in time, a portal capable of transport thousands of years into the future. she really really loves marceline. i think that implies she is capable of separating marceline from the lense she views her candy people with, the lense she views her role of leadership with. in all instances where they interact its made quite clear that bonnie will make sacrifices for marceline whether it be her own time, her resources, or her walls, exposing herself in all her vulnerability, which we have never seen her do for anyone else.
her relationship with marceline is special and unique, unlike that of anyone else in the show. theyve obviously had issues in the past but the feelings they have for each other endured. i dont think its as toxic and dysfunctional as you think it to be

They didn’t talk to each other in the finale. Honestly it was just a fling that went nowhere.

She did but shippers are seething too hard.
I'm glad Finn got with her, and she didn't get nearly as much time as the other female characters.
The good side of this is that they had no time to ruin and assassinate her character.
Almost every woman he knows or has been interested in is a demigod maneater with tons and tons of emotional baggage.
People have the ideal versions of their ships but I would honestly hate for PB to get with Finn with what we know about her now, she is just not the Princess Bubblegum from the early seasons.
She does seem like a bit of a consolation prize but in the end she is probably the best ending for Finn that isn't being alone or getting with a completely random character.
Bubbline isn't really the problem with the ending.
It's everything else around it that kinda sucks, and Bubbline is the focal point of it because everything else was extremely underwhelming.
