Left, like I like owlhouse but there's just not enough of the horror element or actual magic learning happening so far so it ends feeling kind of sporadic, I didn't expect the entire show too be nothing but Dana tier monster designs and learning new spells every episode or something but still the progression feels kind of borked.

Right. I liked Amphibia but it seems both shows will be full of fillers (Amphibia with monster of the week and townies and Owl House Luz and her school friends) and in the the final episodes or four or thre episodes will reveal all the important lore as usual.
To me both are the same but I prefer Owl House's filler more than Amphibia's filler.
