Oh yeah, I hate Whedon. Avengers and then AOU were the perfect examples for everything wrong with his writing. Characters couldn't go a sentence without a fucking joke and somehow that became the template for every movie after.

Halloween 2018 is trash and I absolutely don't understand the positive reviews it got.
There is no spooky atmosphere the first movie had at all, it's your typical bland Blumhouse shit.
Oh wow, they increased the amount of kills and made them more brutal and gorier as if that makes the movie better. The few kills that were in original actually felt adding more threat to Michael. The kills in the 2018 just feel gratuitous not unlike with Rob Zombie's movies and have no impact. Oh yeah, I really care about the random old woman Michael kills.
For the most part the movie is insanely boring with not even littlest semblance of tension the original had.

I kind of.like Zombie's films. He manages an actual grindhouse feel a lot of people imitating it fail to. The difficulty comes from the fact that most grindhouse films aren't very good.
