Glad he got fired.

> "I always felt, as a true Flash, if we were trying to get to the simplest form with regards to media and things like that, we had to go back to Barry because the story starts with him."
He even admits the only reason Barry came back was to appeal to casual tv/movie faggots

>His origin is too tied to Barry Allen's
They've got the same fucking origin. If you remove Barry altogether and make Wally be the second Flash (After Jay) nothing changes. People don't bitch about it because this Wally's not black, otherwise they'd go Miles Morales at him.

Wouldn’t just’ve been easier to tweak Wally’s Orgin?

So his first solution before Rebirth returned the original was... to make the character black.
Was he just trying to copy Bendis?

The script for the original Flash movie was going to have an intro with Barry dying as the Flash and Wally takin* over ala spider verse

Yeah I made the last thread where we talked about this interview. Dan is a cunt and so full of shit. His logic for hating Nightwing was the timeline shift, when in reality he just hated Dick being on the same level as Bruce

>haha how dare characters have strong relationships with other characters!
I guess we couldn’t have a Harley movie without a joker movie first or an animated Miles Movie without a Peter animated movie first.
Oh No we are getting a She Hulk tv show before a Hulk TV show!
How could Captain Marvel get a movie even though the original didn’t get one!

I'm confused by your post. What does any of what you just said have to do with anything here?

Read the interview.
Dan says Wally doesn't work because his backstory involves Barry.
Multiple popular characters have backstories that involve other heroes. You can either
1. Introduce the other character in an intro
or
2 Assume people are ok with learning about two different character
or
3. Just not make a big deal about the characters they are involved with

>Character that has been training since he was a child and in peak age can be as strong as an old timer that started at an older age
I hate DC's stupid Golden goose rule about Batman having to be the best ever forever.

I just read the two articles. Fucking Didio is a retard. Wally had been Flash for years after Barry died. Even I, who didn't read comics yet, knew Wally was The Flash and that Barry is some old dude. Bring Barry back was fine but scrapping Wally was a huge mistake that just keeps on fucking up. Give him his Flash Costume Back and have Barry fuck off again.

Also his Nightwing logic is fucking retarded. He's in charge of the fucking direction. He could just say "hey, let stop doing these Universal reboots!" Dude doesnt deserve to be Editor of a fucking fortune cookie.

Oh okay. Yeah this logic doesn't work considering Wally West was The Flash in the DCAU Justice League cartoon with zero mention of Barry and no one cared

That’s such an integral part to Wally though, that’s why he was considered the best legacy

And he is finally fired. I am not saying DC will be good again but things will have to get better with him gone.

It's sad that Miles got the perfect Flash movie before The Flash did
>Involves legacy
>Different universe shenanigans
>Entire arc about learning to be your own person and not trying to live up to the people before you

New 52 Wally was introduced in 2014. They were casting for The Flash TV show back in 2013. Remember when Ernie Hudson was rumored to play Iris' dad? Didio and everyone else already knew what the TV show planned to do and that was why Wally in the New 52 was black.

Funny because the show seems to hate Wally. He really has no reason to exist because he isn't really a side-kick and he definitely isn't in the comic either since he rarely shows up.

Tfw no into the speedforce movie

Tim Drake will eventually be better than Batman but Dick doesn't have what it takes and neither do any of the other Robins

tim drake will hypothetically be better than bruce but we're never going to read those stories because they'll never be written

I feel like they wrote themselves into a corner with black Wally and now he just exists. The only reason why he's still showing up in Flash books is because old Wally is off doing god knows what with his fancy new Manhattan/Metron powers. Remember Flash Forward? That was nice. In fact the only justice Wally has gotten since his return is his kids coming back with Linda remembering everything

I have been saying for years that DC should do a Marvel Ultimate style universe where side kicks are allowed to join the Justice League and replace their older mentors.
Considering TT is still one of DC's most well known normalfag properties this would work great.

>Tim Drake will eventually be better than Batman
This is implying Tim ever gets it. Frankly he shouldn't get it, and that's for his own good. Tim's problem since day one has been mantle chasing. The best thing for Tim is to ditch the cape and become "Detective Drake"

I slowly grew to like Black Wally. He has no reason to exist but he is more likable now than Barry.
If DC wanted to race bait and kill Barry off so black Wally could take over I would be ok with that. Have White Wally be a mentor that shows up every now and then between doing crazy universe shit.

I'd rather them not do it than create some 5G-esque abomination. The current state of comics doesn't lend itself to these ideas.

>but he is more likable now than Barry.
That's not exactly a big achievement. You know what Barry's defining character trait is? Being a complete fuckup

Has anything actually happened with this? Or did covid fuck it over

he's right of course, ww is garbage

So far, nothing

Isn't he supposed to appear in Metal 2?

Future Tim usually goes full facist when he takes over for Batman.

>t. Never read Flash or watched JL

You know, I actually don't have a problem with that. Keep the two Wallys around, have Barry sacrifice himself in a way which ironically would prevent Thawne from causing his parents' death in the past.
