tried watching this and didn't know what to expect but i couldn't finish it. i stopped watching adventure time middle of season 5, and i remember it being pretty good, what happened? :-(
Tried watching this and didn't know what to expect but i couldn't finish it...
It was always shit.
I only really started to care once the world development started. Also same for backgrounds for the characters, I just have a thing for lore.
Middle of season 5 is about when Adventure Time really went to shit. I dropped the series at the end of season 5.
during the time i watched it there was a lot of dnd inspired episodes with interesting/funny characters and storylines. you have to admit at least it was super influencial in regards to how modern cartoons are made/stylized/the humor (late 00's-10's onward)
but this...i don't know what this is...looks like someones character out of a shitty college indie comic
I liked AT until the end but this special was just too removed from the show for me to care. Even in bad episodes there is at least the consistency of the characters and setting but through this whole i was like "what is this? What are they trying to convey with this character? How does this work?" and none of the awnsers satisfied me +the desings of most things were just really boring or ugly.
Frost and Fire was exactly where the show turned for the worst. That episode caused Too Old, Red Throne, and Breezy all of which resulted in the show declining in quality.
It was a simple character, a simple setting, and a simple allegory.
pretty much the episode was meant to give a reason for a time skip of some sort.
cute
and simply bad writing for simpletons
What makes it bad?
>looks like someones character out of a shitty college indie comic
You mean... it looks like an Adventure Time character?
dry unbelievable character interactions and dynamics, bunny is an archetypal "good at science" female protag, felt swindled into watching something that bmo appeared under the guise of it being a show i once really enjoyed
What made the interactions dry and unbelievable?
I liked getting some of Martin's back story (Finns Dad) because that character doesn't get much attention in the show.
Martin Mertins is Mr.M
Fpbp and based department contacted.
>b-but the original seasons were for us DunD nrrds!!
Poorly aged take.
Middle Season 5 had Dungeon Train. DUNGEON TRAIN.
I enjoyed it at the very least for the neat 'dingy dilapidated space station' visuals, like it was nothing groundbreaking, but I like those cluttered yet comfy aesthetics.
It was nothing special and it answered a question that should have been answered in the final season rather than the filler eps we got.
I think the problem is that many people focus way too hard on "Frost & Fire"/"Too Old"/"Earth & Water" and S6's "Breezy," and act as if those episodes represent the ENTIRE latter half of the series. Seasons 5 and 6 became more ambitious and experimental, sure, but they both had a good mix of creative and fun one-off adventures, lore-heavy dramas, and more abstract philosophical junk. That last one never overtook the entire show's identity.
Yes, the writing style generally became calmer in the later seasons, but there were still plenty of fun jokes and cool ideas during that part of the show's run, especially throughout Seasons 7-9.
And, yes; "Dungeon Train" is fucking phenomenal.
The station was cool at least
here's my personal ranking of the Adam Muto seasons (going by production seasons, so 7 is Bonnie & Neddy to Reboot, 8 is Two Swords to Three Buckets, and 9 is the final season)
7 > 8 > 6 > 5.2 > 9
Distant Lands is already shaping up to be better than 9, probably expecting it to be around or right below 8.
to further go over my thoughts
>5.2
had those infamous stinkers that turned off a lot of fans, but otherwise gets looked down a bit too harshly
>6
really gets a bad rap almost entirely because of Breezy and The Comet, but still the overall vibe can understandably turn some people off
>7
very few stinkers, had Stakes, Xayaphone/Kim had a much better batting average than usual, had a lot of what was good about 6 sans what didn't work
>8
almost no stinkers but didn't quite have room to breath thanks to having 2 different miniseries take up over 2/3rds of the season
>9
screwed over heavily by CN only giving them 16 episodes to wrap things up; a more standard length season (or hell, even a 20 episode season like OK KO got) woulda been better
>going by production seasons, so 7 is Bonnie & Neddy to Reboot, 8 is Two Swords to Three Buckets, and 9 is the final season
I don't give a shit what CN claims with the way the episodes are organized on DVD releases or streaming services. The show will always have NINE total seasons. The way you're interpreting where seasons lie is the only proper way to look at it.
After finally cancelling the show, CN probably just wanted to make themselves look better by making it sound like AT had a complete 10-season run, when in reality is not the case.
You lucky duck, you stopped watching right before it went to shit
Honestly, this is quite fun.
now remove her pants....
pls don't
Nope, I'm into wholesome editing. So not gonna happen.
>right before it went to shit
but it didn't tho
mega?
