Is it worth a watch?
Is it worth a watch?
it’s okay nothing special. Some of the pop culture references are annoying and character motivations feel lacking. The visuals are nice though.
The yellow girl robot needs more porn.
Yeah, it holds up pretty well.
it's a solid 7-8/10.
Could be better, it's not the best, but it's not bad by any means.
Too bad he VA went clinically insane.
we still have the current thread about this movie in the dang catalog
was robots a shrek imitation?
Sure. If you have nothing else to do for 2 hours you might enjoy the time watching this movie. But it's not a "must-watch" or anything like that.
Watch it on mute.
Personally, i consider it the first bad CG animation film. It feels like they only cared about the setting, character designs and animation, while everything else was irrelevant to them. Say what you will about Shark Tale ( which came out 5 months before ), but that movie at least had a storytelling vision and some relatable characters with proper development.
Boring movie. The characters are all one dimensional and have no arcs to speak of. Ice Age worked because the characters had some development ( Manny learning to care about the baby and move on from his grief, Diego ditching his herd to save the others )
Absolutely. It was filled with pop culture humor, celebrity casting, music artists and even had a dance party ending. The movie started production after Shrek came out, and it shows. Ice Age wasn't like this because it was almost finished by the time Shrek happened
*Aunt Fanny needs more porn
>not wanting to hear Ewan McGregor’s voice
Blew my mind when I learned it was him.
>RATTLE BIG BLACK BONES
>IN THE DANGER ZONE
>THERES A RUMBLING GROAN DOWN BELOW
He was pretty weak in this, like he was phoning in. Same goes to Halle Berry ( who barely has any lines ) youtu.be
I remember enjoying it. Style is great and some of the jokes land hard.
Also
visually it is extremely charming. The characters are kinda standard as is the plot but Robin Williams and Mel Brooks are nice stand outs. I'd say it's worth a single viewing, you could watch far worse.
I don't relate with assholes that bet their friend's family heirlooms on horse races user. Sorry you're an asshole like will smith fish
Oscar wasn't as asshole. He was a dumbass. There's a difference. Like it or not, Shark Tale was a work of art that stood out from the crowd back then. Unlike films like Shrek, Ice Age or Nemo ( which were all directed by visual effects guys behind CG or live action films ) Shark Tale was directed by a french animator that came from a 2D background and had zero experience with CG, so he made the film with a different philosophy to every CG film up to that point. We just didn't appreciate this in 2004
Why do you defend utter garbage so fervently?
A dumbass that still causes emotional harm to another is still an asshole, regardless of intention.
A french animator with no 3D background created a visually audacious, ugly, and pop culture shilling film because he had no fucking idea what he was doing. It's a shit film that doesn't deserve any defense. Its characters are ugly both visually and narratively, its world is uninspired and is literally just new york underwater, it's story is tonally inconsistent with serious issues of organized crime and silly fart jokes. It's shit and stop shilling it because you have such autistic nostalgia for it.
He was only causing harm to himself. If the horse lost, then he'd be taken away to be killed. He wasn't being rational at all. Look at his face right before placing the bet. Does he look like a greedy asshole to you ?
Shark Tale isn't any more ugly and pop culture shilling than Shrek 2. The only difference is that the former takes some advantage of the medium, whereas the latter is just a live action film that happens to be animated. Also, Shark Tale only had 1 quick fart joke, whereas Shrek 2 and Robots had plenty
Let's compare the careers of the directors behind Shrek and Shark Tale. You tell me which one had more experience with animation.

it's another "asking if something is worth watching instead of watching it and formulating your own opinion" thread
Little boys love robots
What do little girls love?
Princesses. That’s why there are so many Disney movies about them
What do you mean?
I think you two need less porn in general.
It alright. I enjoyed it. Nothing really memorable though.
I think one thing that's interesting is the fact that there are no "natural" materials in the film. Only metal, concrete, rubber, and maybe plastic, as I recall.
Even the "paper" was sheets of thin metal, I think.
I remember my younger brother crying in the theater in the scene where the red robot gets taken apart
Okay, but how do I exploit their love of princesses to get them to sit on my lap and grind around?
