Tails is like Sonic in a lot of ways and shares the common interest of saving the world from Robotnik. Literally the biggest differences between the two is that Tails is smarter and Sonic more confident. Sonic himself has admitted he values Tails’ abilities highly, because he has no way of providing himself technological/aerial aid, while we all know Tails sees Sonic as a role model to be a hero.
There’s literally 0 reason they wouldn’t be best friends forever.
