How is this still on t.v.? What kind of person actually watches this?

I haven't watched The Simpsons on TV for a long time. I remember they used to mostly just play the good episodes anyway.
Me
Out-of-touch 40yos maybe?
Isn't half the voice cast gone by this point? The ones that remain just sound tired. Marge's actress in particular sounds horrendous.
Boco
Chuck, we're sneeding...
Sneed?
>Marge's actress in particular sounds horrendous.
she's turning 70 this year
I just hope the day it finally ends everyone will shitpost to hell and back about how much of a trainwreck it became and how the showrunners should have had the decency to end it sooner. They probably want ending to be a celebration of the show's legacy, they let them, they don't deserve it.
I would say normies, but I think even the normies have stopped watching.
Maybe ultra-normies.
>ultra-normies
Those are NPCs.
Simpsons is now a television variant of a comic strip that runs forever
>the showrunners should have had the decency to end it sooner
This is what mystifies me. It must still be making a lot of money if they refuse to put it to rest. So who is still watching? Just retarded normalfags who are dumb enough to still have satellite t.v.?
I wouldn't be surprised if the Simpsons was running entirely on sponsorships and endorsement deals at this point. It would explain the rampant, unfunny celebrity cameos and product placements.
This
Is Family Guy in the same category? Stopped watching sometime around 2008 and the only clips I've seen are either really violent or just cringy politics. The latter applies to the Simpsons as well.
Family Guy is still funny
Unlike the Simpsons, I could see the staff deciding it is time to be over when they get tired. Simpsons has clean, polished corporate family appeal when it wants to have it.
Family Guy does not, and likely will just end someday.
and , you can still get at least one laugh out of Family Guy nowadays, even if the rest of the episode is complete shit
Pretty much. Family Guy is stuck in the same purgatory that the Simpsons has been in for the past decade or so, in that both shows need to have the plug pulled.
But I'd say they're awful in different ways. Simpsons is boringly bad, in that it is so mediocre and unfunny that it is almost painful. Family Guy, meanwhile, is terrible in a tryhard edgy sort of way, in that it seems like they're just doing pointless gore and sex jokes just because they can get away with it.
I watch it out of habit whenever I'm super bored and it happens to be on TV. I don't really remember much from the new episodes though.
i met two girls that worked on the animation team.
they were pretty fucked up people
His shit taste and hypocrisy is terminal.
How come South Park and American Dad are the only adult cartoons that has been on for years and still manages to be good?
I don't currently watch it, on TV or otherwise, but I'm kinda masochistic enough to want to go and not only rewatch the good stuff but just watch it ALL.
Like, I know most of it's not gonna be good but I'm genuinely curious just how bad it gets in the last couple hundred episodes I haven't seen.
South Park is more bad than good
meaning, since I guess that first sentence is a bit unclear: one day I will watch the entire series straight through until I'm completely caught up or the show's already ended, whichever comes first. That day is not today.
Millenials watch Simpsons because of nostalgia
Zoomers watch Family Guy because of irony and they want to find memes.
South Park was never funny.
South Park stays contemporary while American Dad just doesnt care.
Sounds like a horrible waste of time.
Zoomers deserve death
Toilet Quagmire is the only thing to come from Family Guy recently that made me laugh and not for the reason they intended.
I guess I'd be kinda looking at them from the perspective of "what makes these episodes bad" since I'm into writing and shit, so I think/hope I might actually get something constructive out of it.
Also I plan to space it out, like only watching a few episodes a day, not do some insane ~2-week straight binge.
>Simpsons vs Family Guy
I'll say Family Guy wins. It's not because I think Family Guy is funnier or Simpsons isn't. It's just at the current season I think Simpsons is out of touch with modern audience. Like imagine if your grandpa had to write jokes about smart phones or Twitter or anything current.
All I've seen recently are orange man bad jokes.
