And nobody finds it weird
There goes Batman again with his small army of boys that looks just like him
It's even weirded when all those similar-looking boys come to Bruce Wayne's big party.
I mean, who knows Batman well enough outside of his immediate family to be able to criticize it?
Superman thinks it's wholesome that he's created a surrogate family
And Catwoman probably thinks it's hot
They wouldn't, really. Dick has his own life now, Jason wouldn't care enough to go, and Tim and Damien have a pretty big age gap.
Unrelated, but I wish Jason was still a villain. It makes no sense for Bruce to invite him back to family anyway. I mean, he kills people and that’s a big no no.
For the longest time, almost everyone had sidekicks so it wasn’t out of place.
Harley Quinn is pretty much another sidekick of the batfamily and Bruce has saved and work with Joker a few times.
Diana has killed people too.
Bruce himself has killed aliens, who tend to be intelligent and sensible life forms too.
Dick killed the Joker at some point.
He respects and deals with Talia.
Alfred is a former spy who has killed.
Should I keep going?
That many? And they all being so similar ?
has killed and is currently killing is a different thing
So they should fire Kate then, And stop working with the lanterns, and Scot Free and all the other people from the cosmic dcu. And half the DCU, let's be honest here.
Everybody finds it weird.
But what are you going to do? It's Batman.
Also it's better that he take in these impressionable, skilled fighters rather than have them fall under the influence of someone nefarious.
Jason has learned to calm the fuck down and isn't blasting the brains of random muggers. He has no problem killing, but it isn't his first instinct now.
At least until the writers decide to have Bruce and Jason fight again, in which case all of that will be thrown out the window.
Superman does not think wholesome to risk kids lives
He only allows Kara and Conner to fight because they are nearly invulnerable
It wasn't his first instinct back them either. He's violent, but his violence has a purpose most of the time, to be honest.
Well you used them for different things.
Batman used his to test how many crowbars it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop, how much shit they'd put up with until they put on an even worse onesie and how much he could train them until they went insane. And he'd just kill off in the main timeline just to prove a point.
Green Arrow used his to test the purity of his rock.
Diana used hers like a doll to smash with Batman's.
And Deathstroke used his to master his stroke game.
Man, remember, Slade's own kids were also his sidekicks at one point (minus Joseph, because Joey is just that awesome).
they should fire kate, yes.
What aliens and alien cops do to aliens isn't relevant. Also, didn't the rings use to have a no kill rule?
Not to my knowledge. I mean, sure, they probably have, but it's not like they really respect it in their stories. At all.
Well, recent morrison's run made a big deal about guardians allowing it once, to let hal kill and appear undercover as a villain
and I remember it being a big issue with evil lanternbats, so, I don't think they kill
sinestro is alive after all
and prime was imprisoned alive
so, nah
They seriously need to bring Joey back. None of this turning evil shit. His friendship with the Titans and Dick was very wholesome.
Dick as Robin is the best
Okay, so:
Bruce becomes Batman (age 25)
Bruce saves Grayson (age 30 ish)
Dick becomes Robin (age 10?)
Dick becomes Nightwing (age 20?)
Bruce takes in Jason (age 40 ish)
Jason becomes Robin (age 15?)
Jason dies (age 20?)
Tim becomes Robin (age 15?)
Bruce is now age 48-50
Dick is 28-30
Tim is 15 ish
Time becomes Red Robin? (age 21?)
Bruce 55 ish takes Damian as Robin
Damian is 12-14
Dick is 35
Am I wrong?
They would never let Bruce get that old. IIRC, pre reboot Dick was around 30 and Bruce was around 45 when Damian came along.
Both Tim and Jason became Robin at 14, Jason died when he was probably 16 or so, Tim was Robin until age 17/18, after which he became Red Robin.
Typically, there's around 15-20 years age difference between Bruce and Dick, as well as Dick and Damian, around 5-7 years between Dick and Jason, and around 10 years between Dick and Tim. Though DC likes to pretend Bruce is 35 forever.
I like him as Nightwing but he is my favorite Robin, both as an adult and when he was actually Robin. He's simply best boy.
Jason was 12 or so when he become Robin. Almost 15 when he dies. Unless you try to work the rather unbelieabable tenure New 52 implies, with himbeing Robin for, like, 6 months when he was 16.
Also, keep in mind when bruce fatheds Damian. He has to do it while Dick is Robin at least, if not even before.
Yeah, Morrison changing stories and background and characterizations however it fits him. Unheard, I daresay!
Absolutely based.
Lol
I don’t get it
The whole point of robin is that he's the child in batman that died made manifest. He's everything bruce could have been: cocky, light-hearted, friends with everyone
The batman and robin dynamic is two broken individuals who need each other for support.
I wonder if any sidekicks that ran their course ever retired in any universe. Not became B/C/D-listers on their own, not killed off. Just retired, went to get education or job, got a family and fucking life and maybe get a mention once or twice then. Why is that such hart thing to do? In particular, why does every Batman sidekick need to stick in the universe?
