Just started watching it yesterday, complete noob to it. 'Where's God When I'm Scared'. Quite like it, it's sort of my sense of humour. Though, I spent an unusual amount of mental energy imagining how it was exactly animated, with how delightfully crude it was.
Ah, memories. I still have their "How to Draw" DVD.
>That Alpine veterinarian
He was a little loopy, but he should have kept his nurse well-paid.
great show.
Of course. Everyone grew up on this show, I don't even think of it as a Christian show.
I jack off to this show
It was a good show, very comfy. Which reminds me I saw the humanizations made by the Dreamworks staff once. Anyone wanna see?
Sure. I never watched it as a kid, I'm one of the plebs who discovered it through memes. Then I watched a few out of context videos which made me want to know the full context. The show is nothing like any other Christian cartoon, not just with the great humour but the genuine effort and passion that goes into each episode
Only the Drawn Together version
it was the literally only good christian cartoon ever made. And was mostly about teaching kids to be good people with some bible references rather than pushing religion down people throats.
Adore it. It being christian content was independent of it being so damn well made, it just taught kids to not be jerks and was so so well written.
Personally I'm a "Genwunner", as in I much preferred the era before the 2002 Jonah movie. The Movie was awesome, but I felt like some of the magic burnt out in later episodes, like it jumped the shark/giant whale. Not sure if others feel the same way.
No you're totally right, grew up with the older and newer Veggietales and there's something charming about everything pre-Jonah. There was still some magic left after Jonah but there was a noticeable dip in quality after the Pirates movie imo
As a angry bitter atheist, I liked it, humor was pretty gud
Used to. On occasion they still have some witty memes. I'm not religious anymore, so I don't feel the need to watch it.
probably one of the most based cartoons I've seen easily the best best religious cartoon
The bunny the bunny oh I love the bunny
Any word on that purported reboot that will go back to the original CGI and with Phil Vischer back in charge?
Yes. It's delightful. Actually funny and charming.
It's funny this show used to send people into a rage about indoctrinating children but LGBTQIAAP+ stuff on cartoons today is normal and lauded as brave
They released a Christmas special last year.
I watched this shit on VHS when it was new. Good times.
Who else watched these?
Mcgee and Me
Adventures in Odyssey
Davey and Goliath
Psalty the Psalm book
Veggietales is the only show i see get any mention.
This show was quite of a game changer since it proved that a little kids show can be entertaining to older kids and even adults and it was several years before the whole pony faggotry. Plus it was a religious show.
It basically prove that ANY SHOW can be good with a competent staff. Such a shame that only Simpsons made respectful cameos of this show while everyone else mocked it due to making a short bible reference per chapter.
Prophetic
