Legend of Korra season 4- hey it really wasn't that bad and the mech fight this time was actually pretty cool. Sure the show could've been a bit more focused and would hugely benefit from getting more episodes per season and Korra-Asami relationship came completely out of the left-field but overall it had great action, some touching moments and a very likeable cast. Korra could be a little less of a pushover for everyone seriously she doesn't ever win any 1v1 but other than that it was pretty enjoyable. Sure, atla I still prefer ATLA but if we ever got fifth season of korra instead of new avatar/fourth season of Aang I wouldn't be too angry

I never finished the show but please tell me: did Mako's story progress in a fulfilling way? He was my second favorite firebender and yet people don't really talk about him.
After book 2 he gets completely emasculated and shafted deep into the background. He helps save the day at the end of book 4 but he's pretty much a non-entity for most of the series.
>and Korra-Asami relationship came completely out of the left-field
??? It had multiple seasons of build up. Other characters fall for each other instantly in the space of a single scene and that's fine, but a multi-season build up was "out of left field"?
Season one and two weren’t that great in hindsight . But at the very least for all their flaws. Brian and Mike are at the very least willing to concede when they’ve messed up and try to make things better as they move forward.
>buildup
What buildup was there? All they ever did was hang out with each other, even their last scene doesn't hint at anything other than friendship and them BAM staring romantically at each other
Not him but you must be confused, there was no romantic build-up. At most you could say they blushed at each other in the fourth season, there sure as shit weren't "multiple seasons of build up".
If you want a lesbian romance with build-up watch She-Ra.
Season one wasn't as much of a fuckup as season 2, honestly it's a shame they ditched probending and republic city as a setting after just 12 episodes
As flawed as Korra was, I really want a third Avatar series. And while that seemed impossible after the fourth season of Korra was pushed out by Nick and relegated to air on their website, nowadays there's actually a good chance.
>if we ever got fifth season of korra instead of new avatar/fourth season of Aang I wouldn't be too angry
I would be angry. In fact I am still angry about the first four seasons of that garbage. I can't even jerk off to the porn without getting mad about what a fucking shit show that was.
He gets a heroic almost sacrifice that no one cares about
Yes, Korra was irritating and incompetent but it's not a bad writing, as far as we know of all the recent avatar only Aang and Yangchen were succesful. At least she wasn't as bad as Kiyoshi.
Which was hilariously unnecessary and didn't achieve anything.
No. It honestly felt like the universe itself hated him.
I'll let a lot of the shitty aspects of Korra slide, but Korra-Asami absolutely did not have romantic buildup. The only way I could understand someone seeing it like that is if they're the kind of person that believes that close friends secretly want to munch rugs or pump nut butter into the other's rump.
Figures. I think I finished season 2 or maybe got a little bit into season 3 and it started feeling like the writers decided they hated him. I had a little hope they'd pull a 180 but knew that was unlikely.
>just a bunch of scenes of them standing together
By this logic Korra x Tenzin was the real endgame
Tenzin never made Korra blush.
Wow, characters standing near each other. What blistering romantic heat.
Asami didn't even have a personality of her own. She had no chemistry with anyone and nothing really to do. None of the other characters felt like they were friends with her - but, then again, none of the other characters seemed to particularly know one another either.
Now I understand the real endgame of the writers severing the past lives
>Dude Lmao lets over-explain what makes the avatar the avatar
>Dude Lmao lets bring the airbenders back with magic
>Dude Lmao lets give the villain a giant mech
Bryke desperately needed to og ATLA writing team to hold them back from complete retardation huh.
That's not buildup. That's two people occasionally being in close proximity to one another.
The Lucas situation all over again.
In one shot out of 48.
>Wow, characters standing near each other. What blistering romantic heat.
Thats a fucking romantic opera for shipper eyes.
What the fuck was Asami's character supposed to be?
I honestly wish they'd have her be involved with the equlists nd then hve her run off the mill redemption rc just so she'd have something to do. She's just a pretty design with no character
Season ones biggest weakness was the ending I mean I understand at the time they only thought they were only going to get one season. So they made the decision to wrap up all the loose ends in the event they didn’t get another. Regrettably that led to them totally junking the interesting Bender vs non bender plot by revealing the villain was a self-hating bender. Basically making him for non-benders what Shaun King is for Black people.
I just think there was a lot more room to make that sort of powered people versus non-powered people storyline a lot more interesting than it turned out being. End it was the networks fault for not letting them realize it to their full potential
he serves his purpose, but he wasn't a bad person to start so there's no real arc for him to go through
i still like him by the end
people will miss the build up because they will just see korra and asami as friends until they actually end up together
the scenes they get are good, but if you're looking at it through the wrong lense you'll think it came outta left field.
too bad people don't go back and rewatch korra or they'd see this.
Them sharing the screen doesn't mean they were built up. They are just friends for four seasons okay there was some foreshadowing in s4 but not much and suddenly it's love.
That collage is shitty. You have go go back and rewatch the show and try and look at it like like they're even a possibility of romantic partners. when most people watched Korra, they wouldn't think twice about the scenes we got between Korra and Asami because most people wouldn't have even seen them as an option for one another. The first two seasons is just them getting to be friends, season 3 and 4 is where the action is at.
They spend the majority of season 3 with each other, if you go back and watch, you'll see the tension building.
>Asami teaches Korra how to drive
>Asami helps Korra work out
>They go to the Earth Kingdom and try and take on bandits together
>Asami vouches to watch over Korra as she meditates, and then tries to save her from Zaheers crew
>They work together to escape the desert
>Asami is by Korra's side, helping her for the few weeks after Korra is poisoned.
>Asami offers to go WITH KORRA to the south pole to continue helping her recover
And then Season 4 is even more obvious, starting right off the bat with Asami being THE ONLY ONE Korra keeps in contact with for 3 years, which is the most telling thing of all in retrospect.
It's all subtle, but not to subtle that you'd miss it if you go back and look for it. 2013~2014 was a different time, they didn't quite know what they could get away with. Korrasami walked for all these current cartoon lesbians could run.
