Remember that time when one of the best original Spider-Man moments of the last twenty years was ruined so Marvel could virtue signal
Remember when that same moment became the basis for all Peter Parker story conclusion alternate takes and adaptations to focus on a lazy recolor character rather than Peter himself
> one of the best original Spider-Man moments of the last twenty years
True
> was ruined so Marvel could virtue signal
There's literally nothing virtue signal about this. He's looking on at the weight of responsibility that falls on his shoulders, the legacy he has to live up to. What's virtue signaling about that?
> a lazy recolor character rather than Peter himself
But he's not. He's a totall different character.
Adam Barnes
Honestly I like this moment a lot, it's the equivalent of uncle Ben death in Peter's life. Miles gets a ton of shit for being a quote on quote "Peter clone" which isn't, well maybe at the start of his story but it's because we need the parallels in miles life so when he breaks out in the whole "I gotta be like Peter" it feels good for the reader... Such a shame miles doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
Asher Russell
>He's a totall different character. Not in comics
David Richardson
>Such a shame miles doesn't get the recognition it deserves. He gets more than he deserves, which is none at all
Charles Clark
>total different character In what fucking way
Henry Carter
user that moment was great and continued to be one of the only impactful deaths in comic books, period You hating niggers doesn't change that.
Remember when OP was a faggot?
Ian Cruz
Well, unlike Peter, Miles actually had friends in Highschool. Also, his academic interests tended more towards Civics/Law than Science.
Aiden Gonzalez
I get what you are saying, yes idiots like him just because he's black and I'm kinda pissed off about it too, a character needs to be recognized by his actions not his skin color... But in defense of miles I guess a lot of people don't like him because it started kinda bad but to each their own I guess.
Austin Wood
Yet nothing else was different
Mason Martinez
>He's a totall different character. Not even you believe this.
Grayson Martin
>But he's not. He's a totall different character. why lie?
Benjamin Rivera
>There's literally nothing virtue signal about this. He's looking on at the weight of responsibility that falls on his shoulders, the legacy he has to live up to. What's virtue signaling about that? That's a good point, but you forget that Miles is Black. That automatically makes everything in his plot-line a politicized SJW virtue signal for onions boy cucks.
Luis Davis
Yes. However, other black characters don't seem to have that problem.
Easton Rogers
Let it go user. There's like a dozen comics with Peter in them being made right now that you can read.
Kayden Clark
Well, he's not a scientist nerd like Peter was, and he's a lot more impulsive and emotional, and he has a more aggresive power set, with invisibility and electrical discharges.
He's essentially got a wider and stronger power-set, but lacks the super intellect Peter Parker had, meaning that he has to resolve things differently. To be fair, Peter rarely made persistent, long term gadgets due to his lack of personal wealth, but our boy Miles cant make Spider-trackers or webfluid, he needs a crew for that.
It's almost like a different build, gaming wise.A more powerful, but less independent build that cannot handle enemies outside of his power set due to not having super-intellect.
Lincoln Lopez
>HES LIKE SPIDER-MAN BUT EVEN MORE POWERS this is why everyone hates you and your donut steel oc
Hunter Green
Addendum, -we've never seen him have to pay for these faults, at least I havent, because he's always had someone give him goodies or gadgets or backup to make up for his faults. While Peter was constantly worried about web fluid, and costs, the comparitively well-off Miles with all his connections and friends, rarely has to deal with that shit.
Oh, and personality wise, I think he's not SUPER different personality wise, because the writers dont wanna make him MLK Mk2 or Iron Fist Mk2, so they keep him subdued and more real.
Like a normal young person rather than some developed adult.
Isaiah Lee
>meaning that he has to resolve things differently Literally every single conflict he's in ends with "venom blast lmao" and some sort of woke statement
Anthony Lewis
I was just giving an analysis, man.Calm down, I didnt even like Miles when Peter died in Ultimate Spiderman. I thought it was completely BS.
To this day, I dont think he fits in 616 Marvel. He should be INSANE, if he still has memories of all the events he's lived through. If he recalls everything he lived through- like the Incursions, the Secret Wars, the Death of the Multiverse, and more? Generally, that knowledge should shatter a man...but it seems he's...okay.
Liam Nelson
>the equivalent of uncle Ben death Who the fuck is that?
That part has been really wonky because Bendis had it so that Miles knew in some way but other writers just wrote him like he isn't aware of the Ultimate universe. As for that user you were replying to, I'd say ignore them. They don't focus on the fact that Peter has three ongoings of his own.
Thomas Nguyen
They tried to do the same with Tony Stark but come on ¿Why people ate that shit of "muh responsibility? I know they said it between lines that >When you can do the things I do and you don't do it... People get hurt I mean wtf Disney how do you butcher the most iconic line of marvel?
Sebastian Nguyen
Miles started out all right, it's just everything following Ultimate Fallout was utter fucking tripe, just garbage.
First of all, his powers he can't control. He's literally just Peter Parker with Venom Touch and invisibility, there's nothing interesting about that, he's regular Peter but more. And not controlling them is not a real downside when they always conveniently pull him through because plot demands it.
Second, this is you reading too much into it, this isn't his Uncle Ben's death moment, at least, Bendis clearly didn't intend it, because couple of issues later he'll have Miles's real uncle Ben, which is Aaron Davis, die, so really Miles has 2 Uncle Bens. And then his mother dies, so that's a third Uncle Ben. And then it's revealed that Peter never died, so it's more like Miles had 2.5 Uncle Bens.
Third, do you remember that plotline where Miles's dad was undercover Shield agent? Me neither then, it's best we forget about it.
Fourth, BENDIS RESSURECTED PETER AND MADE MILES IMMORTAL
There's a very solid fucking reason why Miles had any clout only from people who never read his shitty fucking comics before Into the Spider-verse, because Miles's comics were honestly some of the worst Spider-man comics ever written.
if they didn't give him his stupid oc powers and just gave him the regular spider-man shit with organic webs I would have been fine with it.
Sebastian Hill
>Second, this is you reading too much into it, this isn't his Uncle Ben's death moment, at least, Bendis clearly didn't intend it, because couple of issues later he'll have Miles's real uncle Ben, which is Aaron Davis, die, so really Miles has 2 Uncle Bens. You say that, but Pete's had people he loves die in front of him too. Captain Stacy, Gwen, Scary Cop Lady, Ned Leeds.
Lucas Gutierrez
I dont fucking know why Bendis ressurected Peter in the Ultimate Spider-verse.
Ultimately, it dont matter cause the multiverse was destroyed.
I personally dont like 616 nu-Miles, too much. Everything is too convenient. Allies everywhere, pals, and teams and money and tech, and Iron Man and OG Spiderman helping and giving him help, and greater powers than the OG Spidey, but his weakness?
The ONLY time he's ever had a problem that his magic powers couldnt resolve was recently, where he was kidnapped and tortured. It's like the author decided to give him actual weaknesses or something.
Jeremiah Mitchell
Miles's relatives are only ones who die.
Mason Sullivan
Yeah, it took someone a solid decade to realize that his powers that he can't control, they can like not magically get him out of any situation at the last second and things might go wrong.
Grayson Edwards
It's like the author actually realized 'he's actually an semi-trained, semi experienced kid with mid-tier powers', and actually gave him opponents he couldnt deal with. Unlike OG Spidey, where a ton of his fights end with him getting his ass beat.
Recently, the Miles Morales Spiderman author, I gotta give him props. He's making Miles more...complete as a character. He's strong, and powerful, but he's definetly not an invincible megaman- he's had foes that he cant stop lately. Imagine that.Foes he cant just beat with pure power.
Christopher Peterson
Just because the issue-to-issue writing for the character is not middle school OC fanfic tier anymore doesn't negate the fact the character himself as a whole and his core concept are a superfluous joke on the franchise, especially the way he ties in to the main character people actually care about.
With most other tumor-tier characters, you can safely ignore their existence in alternate takes and adaptations, even with actually good character like for example Black Cat, you can ignore her wholesale like she simply never existed in the movies and no one noticed. With Miles, if he's not standing directly on dead Peter's (figurative or literal) body and grave the second he's dead or leaving to take focus away from him, and if Peter is not gladly handing over the keys to his franchise and persona to a literal who he just met, you're being a racist bigot who's erasing woke important characters. You cannot have Peter die or retire without Miles anymore.
Jose Russell
I wonder why you even have TWO characters called "Spider-Man", in the same universe. It's not a title, this aint the Green Lantern core. If you wanted to have Miles, just replace Peter. Literally have him retire, or something. You CAN have characters retire. Blow off Peter's arm and leg, have him have a final glorious battle, and semi-cripple him to the point that even with advanced replacements, it would somewhat pointless to continue being Spiderman, when he could put his brain to use.
