Would an episode in which Bart gets gealous about Lisa being revealed as a skateboarding savant make Zig Forums as mad as this one?
Would an episode in which Bart gets gealous about Lisa being revealed as a skateboarding savant make Zig Forums as mad...
He’s gotten mad over less
No, Lisa ha a whole background of being an annoying bitch full of herself, that makes any bad thing she does worse than a bart counterpart. Plus she is a girl.
Does Bart even skateboard anymore?
Didn't that happen in one of the future eps with adult Bart calling Lisa out on being an attention whore but then it playing it off on it being totally Bart's fault and not Lisa's?
After Homer fought Tony Hawk it kinda died down
Is there anything Lisa is not extremely talented at this point? She is a supergenius skilled at every field, she manage the family money, she is a great athlete at several sports etc.
She is not only good at everything due to training, she is shown as a natural prodigy at everything, she is a blatant mary sue rather than someone who train hard.
She did have a point, Bart can’t get mad at Lisa for being actually doing something with her life
No. It's understandable to be frustrated with Lisa because she got worse (along with all the other characters) but Zig Forums takes it ten steps further because she's a girl. Lisa's done some bad stuff but it's nothing compared to all the shit Homer's done like pic related. And yet nobody obsessively shits on him like they do Lisa. It goes beyond just not liking a character. These people get mad at Lisa like she's a real life person who did real life reprehensible things.
Also wasn't Barthood all about Bart being a little bitch throughout his whole life because he was jealous that Lisa was good at stuff?
Everybody likes to blame Lisa. Especially in that e-sports episode in which Homer was the one who shut off the power, not Lisa. And yet people blamed Lisa.
I really can’t think of her being good at any sports besides hockey that one time
Did that not happen? I feel like that happened.
Maybe I’m thinking of the episode where they went on a summer vacation to the beach, and Lisa reinvented her identity, and flipped the script by making friends with the cool beach kids who thought she was a cool rebel before Bart got a chance to make a first impression, and they all thought Bart was a dork. I forget if Lisa skateboarded at all in that ep, but I think it fits the theme either way.
I don‘t remember anybody complaining about that ep, but I think that’s more because it was from an older season where the writing was better. That’s the part that makes all the difference.
>Bart finally gets to be good at something for once
>Family member cripples him
It wasn't the jealousy part that was the problem, it was that. Families get split up, children get sent to live with distant relatives over deliberate mutilation of a sibling. If not just incarcerated, or committed.
She didn’t do it on purpose, he just happened to be up there, possibly smoking reefer.
Women are like that.
Yes. Zig Forums is just retarded enough to get mad over everything.
Barthood was about Bart resenting Lisa for getting all the family's constant praise and love sans Grandpa when he gets nothing. That in itself isn't bad, it's the fact Lisa makes herself out to be the victim by the episode's end and Bart caps the episode by painting a giant mural of her in his shop as if he has anything to be grateful to her for.
By "bad" of course, I mean reasons why people dislike Lisa in the ep, I think the episode was a nice way of showing Bart and Grandpa's bond. Humiliation congas aren't necessarily a bad thing so long as they add to a story.
When has Bart's skill with skateboarding been important to the story or a point of pride for him? Legitimately curious, I have not even begun to watch every post-classic Simpsons episode.
Because he kept getting mad that she was doing well in school and had a future and he wasn’t
>She didn’t do it on purpose,
>Bring tiger into house
>it bites family member
>She's supposed to be the smart one
Like what?
Accidents happen, deal with it. Bart left Willie homeless like twice , you don’t get pissed about that
In the show’s peak Bart’s skateboarding feels a lot less important, but I can at least remember it being a big part of that one early season episode where Homer tries to jump over the gorge to teach Bart to stop doing crazy stunts.
Episodes about how Lisa is great, can do no wrong, and gets everything she wants are so grating because they're so many of them.
I ask because while it's clear that Lisa has a ton of pride in her ability with the saxophone (seen in the rival episode in particular), and her intelligence to the point of insecurity, Bart doesn't seem to treat his skateboarding (or anything else for that matter) the same way. I guess the daredevil episode exists but the skateboarding is just the medium in which to do the stunts, Bart's skill/pride in skateboarding is not really a point of focus.
Not really.
No, because Homer and Marge were constantly showing her love while Homer would neglect him, insult him and casually mock him for being inadequate. There's literally a whole psychologist segment where it's made clear Bart is developing behavioural problems because Homer's treatment of him and adoration of Lisa makes him feel unworthy of love.
>Accidents happen
A permanent career destroying injury brought on by jealousy induced negligence. Lisa didn't have to give up the saxophone because her brother was good at something.
>you don’t get pissed about that
I did.
Why would you assume I didn't?
What does that have to do with anything?
>Is there anything Lisa is not extremely talented at this point?
Tappa tappa tappa.
Ironic, since Bart was naturally gifted at ballet
Sounds like an issue with them, not her
Negligence is kind of a part of being a Simpson, they do all kinds of bad shit all the ducking time, and the injury wasn’t permanent, Bart said the surgery would have just made his arm heal quicker
It those episodes that makes people on Zig Forums want to see a episode set in the future where Lisa is the failure and Bart is the successful one.
Yeah, the only issue with her is that she gives another preachy soapbox by the episode's end pretending she's the victim in this situation and that she's somehow had it just as bad as he did - and he believes her because plot. That's why people dislike her in the episode, because she's vain and has a victim-complex, not because she ruined Bart's life.
