"Some things never change" or "Home"

"Some things never change" or "Home"
Which song works better as an introduction for Frozen 2?
And while we're at it. Old prologue or final cut?

Home is much much better but of course it got cut, because the filmmakers hate Anna.

Is it a matter of taste? Obviously having something like that prologue would call for a different movie.

>because the filmmakers hate Anna
I would call you a paranoid but they also cut pic related...

"home" works extremely well as a set up for Anna eventually becoming queen, the problem is the movie itself doesn't care about that because they don't even show us the coronation.

I hope they release the full storyboard version of Some things never change

this
I like the old prologue better but it's clearly made for a different movie
Probably a better movie

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LOLIDUNA IS SO CUTRE BREHS

Stumbled upon this while searching for something else on Google earlier:

kek
At least now everyone knows

Home is better but I still like Some things never change a lot.
I don't really like the old prologue that much.

That's the thing.
It's a good setup with no payoff.
To make "Home" work, you need to either show the coronation, show or, better yet, both.

>it's an "Anna was robbed" thread
I...I don't know if I have the strength...

The cheeky documentary editor did a fantastic job portraying the absolute mess that was going on behind the scenes

oh is it time to post best girl?

home should have stayed in, but that doesn't mean stnc needs to be cut instead. both can stay if you do a bit of reworking.

Chin up user. Lying on the floor in defeat is what Elsa would do.

This!
Anna doesn't surrender.

if I have a chance tomorrow I think I will draw more Anna

All they needed to do was "pad out" the first act for an extra 5 minutes and we could have had both.

We know they had at least 6 different cuts of the movie, of unknown varying difference between each other, based on what they said in the documentary about their internal screenings and how it caused script changes every time. I wish they could release one of them. Hell, I would buy a blu ray release if it had all the storyboarded versions. I'm just too damn curious about that shit.

So which do we think they cut first in order to give Elsa more screentime?
>Anna's coronation scene gets cut, so Home isn't needed.
>Home gets cut, so Anna's coronation scene isn't needed.
Really, all that changes is which order they disrespected Anna in.

I think it was one clean sweep which got rid of
>Home
>Get this right
>The Nokk test (Kristoff and Anna's relationship's arc as a whole)
>The deleted scene with the parents talking about how much they love and trust Anna

Those 4 deleted scenes/songs work too well in harmony, so I believe they were all part of the same cut.

The deleted scene where Anna finds out how much her parents love her is part of that too. It was one calculated amputation of anything positive for her.

Yes, that was clearly one completely different version of the movie.

Get up Anna. You are stronger than your sister.
You know you were loved. You're not so fragile that you constantly need proof in front of your face.

I know animated musicals are their own thing, and they’ve got to be short and simple for the kids, but I really wish they would steer more towards broadway musical structure. Give everyone a musical theme, let it develop, let them mash together in all sorts of ways, explaining what everyone is thinking and feeling. Don’t cut good songs, use them. If it must be all about one person, then it better be a captivating story, and show how each character relates to it. F2 was really like a fanfic, meandering around and draining characters of their personality.
It’s a lot harder to make a good musical, but all the time and resources are right there, and it would become something lasting. I guess I’m just complaining at this point. Sorry, I’m a little drunk and just watched a musical.

Don't worry, I'm sober and I agree with you. "See the Sky" was a very Broadway song and I wish it had been included.

Yep, and while they’re at it, give Elsa a line where she hints that she’s not entirely content and longs for adventure.

Did someone say "give Elsa a line"?! We'll start reworking the script right away!

At least this one was little bit more of a musical than the first movie (They didn't leave us with the entire last 30 minutes without a song) but I agree with you.
Who knows, maybe they'll finally get it right with F3.
