Are the Mass Effect comics decent? I saw Dark Horse was releasing them all in one trade and the price is pretty good.

They are sadly awful. They're all written by Hack Walters who also helped crash and burn the video games.

Duh. A chance to play an ME game in an entirely new setting, with new species and old intermingling, and a chance to ignore the end of ME3, lest it be the absolute worst option out of a bunch of terrible ones? I'm struggling to think of a better chance for a revival.

Then of course,

>they simultaneously simplified and made the skill system more complicated, both resulting in less fun

It wasn't. In fact, the majority of ME1's writers didn't even stay until ME3. It's not really surprising ME:A decided to wipe the slate clean... before smashing it against the ground.

That Paragon Lost anime looked like it was gonna be trash, but jesus that ending.

What's worse is that Shepard made it worthless. I wish Vega had a better rivalry with Shep in 3 where no matter what you do he'll always have a bit of resentment

Only one's I've liked have been Rampage and Dead Space Downfall. Although there are films that draw some inspiration from a game or fit the tone
