>Matt Groening (reacting to Burns throwing the fish guts at people): That...was a little much.
>Tim Long: That shouldn't have gotten past the table read. Lyl.

>That alternate commentary track on Rick and Morty with the two dudes just clearing the phlegm out of their throat, talking about shit unrelated to the show, joke about gargling each other's cum, and being dismissive about animation in general

Jesus christ what am I listening to

Early series commentaries are always such a delight. The creators are full of passion and excitement for their process. Listen to early Family Guy commentary from the original box sets, you just can’t imagine them caring that much now.

Invader Zim DVD’s have amazing commentary tracks. Just throwing that out there.

>They had to hit Gir's VA in the stomach with a baseball bat to get him to scream just the right way
>That time they were choking on drinks and snacks

Seriously?

It's what I remember from the commentary, it's been a long time though and they were very likely bullshitting.

They hate it so much they walk out on it

Ha, even they knew it was awful

Imagine being Matt Groening. Imagine having your name under one of the biggest shows in the world. Imagine it turning into a rape gag fest within a few years because you wanted to expand your pallet with another sitcom. But you kinda deserve it because you went hands-off after the first 3 seasons but still took the credit of the other writers who you didn’t want to see succeed in a field you regularly shit on anyway.

Groening really didn't even pay any attention to the Simpsons during the Scully era because he was preoccupied with Futurama. On some Season 11-12 commentaries he admits this was the first time he's ever seen many of those episodes.

Which epsiode?

ventrue bros has pretty fun commentary

I have a question, is truth that Danny Elfman gets paid for every episode?

What the fuck is wrong with these people? Why are they so upset at anything less that Flash-tier perfect stillness and consistency of shape?

Simpson commentary tracks were just a reflection of the zombie years.
Futurama comentaries on the other hand were pure gold.

Yes. He wouldn't have initially because he sold the actual rights to the song to Fox, but they still pay performance royalties because he's the single male voice of the choir at the beginning.

> being dismissive about animation

Why they mock a medium that Kick started Roiland career and made them millions? Are they are joking?

It really appreciate Duncan Tuusell more.

>Lisa pantsu at the end.

>crossover episode triggered Matt Groening so badly that not only did he demand his name be scrubbed from the episode's credits (the only episode in the series to do so), he also refused to participate in the DVD commentary for said episode

Futurama had good DVD commentary

Wasn't there an Adventure Time commentary where Ward didn't say a single word, and spent the entire episode playing his ukulele?

Based.

The critic had better writing than all of disenchantment
Go fuck yourself groening

I think Jean and Reiss are talentless assholes, but it was a good episode.

?

They don't care about animation.

>I think Jean and Reiss are talentless assholes
The problem with them is that their sense of humor is really Reddit-tier.

The Critic was good but the crossover was still pretty lame. Being tongue-in-cheek about the inherent foibles of crossover episodes doesn't excuse the parts that still played them unironically, and the conflict was a bit phoned in. Like you'd think with how they joked with everything else, they would play around with the fact that Marge and Jay are pushing a stereotypical melodramatic film festival movie, whereas Homer wants one he genuinely enjoys, but instead it's play 100% straight and one-dimensional as another "dumbass Homer just needs to not be a dumbass" plot.

What's with hipsters and ukuleles?

Because they want adults to take it seriously and overly fluid cartoony animations make it seem childish
