IDW had better survive long enough to finish their hardcover collections of the tmnt comic up to issue 100 (which would be collection 13 or maybe 14) but aside from that who cares

A tiny group of idiots living in a bubble and throwing money to a crowdfunded an overpriced comic is meaningless. It doesn’t change anything. It has no influence. All it proves is that if you’re an ideologue then you will just keep spending money on stupid shit.

Notice how nobody ever actually talks about how “good” the comic actually is? It’s always just talk about how much money EVS is able raise. Because the content doesn’t matter to these people.

Can someone explain the purpose of this movement? They said that comics are meant to make money and that's what they are aiming for, but what about reviving the comic book industry, or is that not what they are doing? Some of these people compare the sales to other bad titles that are in the thousand but in OP's pic you see only 7,808 backers who would buy or donate their cause. Also, what would happen if indiegogo goes down, I know some of them dislike kickstarter but what other sites can they use. Finally, isn't this a bad comparison to make since the current market is measured by how many people who would be bothered to buy a comic vs people who are willing to spend more money than normal on extra stuff or out of spite?

If the system isn't against them, why do they have to rely on outside funding?

There’s nothing wrong with outside funding. It’s reliable, decentralized, and has a wide reach. The system is not needed anymore.
It still raises the question of why conservatives are barely producing new works, when every leftist with a pink-haired MC can make thousands per month. Surely there’s an untapped market of silent majority readers desperately craving conservative content?
